We hired Bruce Bugsy Siegel in September of 2014 to replace a liner in our pool, coping around the pool and replace a water feature which fed water into the pool. He quoted us a price of $11,016 for all of this work and we were told it would take 10 business days to order the materials, then 3 days to complete the work. We agreed to the terms and paid him half of the contract up front ($5,508). After we paid him, we had to chase him down for a month to get an update on his progress. He claimed he was in the hospital and he was still waiting for the liner to come in. Another month goes by and we only had the coping completed and half of the waterfall completed.

No liner had been installed. In December he finally had the liner installed, but had a number of pool leaks. He addressed them at first (after many phone calls, texts & emails), but the pool was still plagued with leaks.

Fast forward another month and a leak test is performed by a leak professional. He stated many leaks in the liner and said the water feature needed to be completely removed that it was not salvageable. It had many leaks coming through the mortar. I sent this report over to Bugsy and he said he would address everything. He then went to the house, called me and said someone had added mortar to the water feature and he would no longer warranty the work.

I can assure you, no one had worked on that pool or water feature other than the leak detection guy, the pool equipment guy (who only installed pool equipment) and Bugsy's guys and himself. I double checked with everyone and no one would have touched this. He then went on to blame my wife for adding the mortar to the water feature. At this point, I had enough. This project is still incomplete, it has cost me $13k ($11k for the original contract & $2k in replacement of the water feature). I still have leaks in the liner itself, which he just filled in with Silicone, rather than stretching the liner and fastening.

Apparently, this guy is no angel and after a lot of research (which I wish I had done prior to hiring him) I have found quite a bit about Bruce Coleman Siegel (alias Bruce Bugsy Siegel or just Bugsy Siegel). He has had numerous pool companies all over north Texas and scammed many people. Below are a few links which shed light on this individual.

It seems as though he is moving from county to county and starting a new company with a clean slate. He has already caused a lien on a homeowner in Aubrey, TX for not paying his subcontractor. Now the owner of the home will be stuck with a $3,700 expense when they go to sell their home.

This guy is bad news. Stay away from him!!!
