was called and told I owed on a credit cart that was closed in 2009. I never had a MasterCard. was told I owed $3800.00 and would be sued and or wages garnished for the total if I did not pay at least half of the bill. Very aggressive and rude

Got a call from one of these slime balls this morning - Bruce Swain. The number displayed was a local number when, in fact, they are located in the epicenter of scam collection agencies, Buffalo, NY. From what I've read, no matter where you live, they have a way of making their number appear to be in your area. I recently saw a news segment about these scammers on television. They advised that you ask the creeps to prove you owe money. They usually can't. I blocked the number on my phone.
This specific business engages in phone calls after a cease request has been filed they are unable to verify accounts they claim they are working on they are unable to provide any evidence the debt is real and they resort to name calling and verbal intimidation in order to try and make you pay for a debt that you believe you do not owe. the belong to trade organizations that are set up to benenfit the trades and not the concumers, they fail to provide you with the appropriate consumer protection you are entitled to. Be careful in dealing with this company.
Shwan Wheeler called me up several weeks ago regarding a credit card account that was closed out in 2005-
Shawn told me that I would be sued/wages garnished/a lean put on my house if I didnt pay-
I was sent a letter outlining the terms and conditions of the settlement-I paid $500.00 up front and $250 x month for the next 6 months-I recentely found out that that $0.00 has been applied to my bablance-Shawn Wheeler stole my money.
If you get a call from Shawn Wheeler-even if he puts it in writing. he will steal from you. DONT PICK UP.
