Rented from ace rental car and had a very small dent in bumper. It was so insignificant that the check in personnel nor i saw it. They called several days later to tell me there was a dent. I had coverage on my credit card.

In the fine print please note ace rental car charges $100 administrative fee for any claim. Fair enough i suppose, even though i never read it. However, they also charge for diminution of value which is also not usually covered by supplemental insurance. Just to keep in mind.

The reason for this post is the loss of use charges. Which i understand is part of the repair process. However, ace rental car would not provide proof of loss of use to complete my claim. They charged 5 days at the highest daily rate Higher than i paid) for repair small crease in bumper. The were contacted on three different occassions in regards to this issue. They stated they did not legally have to provide this information.

What is really frustrating, as if it is not already, i was working with insurance company to clairfy coverage. I exptected to hear back from ace in regards to the last request put in from insurance company, however, the next coorespondance was from a collections company. They did not even offer the courteousy to contact via mail, phone or email Which they had all information) that they were closing the claim.

Needless to say i will not be renting from alamo rental car who i believe over inflated all cost for repairs and especially loss of use! i also will be cancelling my premium rental car coverage through american express, amex assurance, due to their unwillingness to pay for loss of use without proof. Leaving it to "me" the insured to pay the bill.

The overall service was not bad. They did not have the car I originally wanted but they re-adjusted and I was out in my rental car in less than 15 mins. Up until now I was satisfied with the service and I would totally recommend anyone to go to this place for their car rental needs.

It was when I got back home that I changed my mind when I received a notice that a claim had been opened against me for physical damages to the vehicle. Obviously I was a bit flabbergasted by this because to my recollection, the car had been returned in the exact same condition as it was checked out to me. The person did the inspection and said it looked ok. The total charges for the claim were over $4400 dollars. Come on! $4400 in physical damages to a vehicle, correct me if I'm wrong, should be pretty obvious and not something you notice later. I asked them to please explain specifically and in detail the damages I am being charged for (I believe I have the right to know), and I was simply told “hail damage” I asked again what part of the vehicle was damaged, and I the person simply told me the case had been sent to the claims company and the she was not going to argue with me. These charges are very unethical, predatory, and just simply wrong. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this predatory company. Go to the more reputable ones like Hertz and Enterprise.
