Advantage Air in Sebastian, Fl is the same company as Clean Air by Design, Vacuvent, Coastal Environmental. They just keep ripping people off and change the names along with the CAC NUMBER. They find some person who has an airconditioning license and they use it to rip people off. They call you with the idea of only $25.00 for five vents and a free dryer vent cleaning. The fact of the matter is: they dialute the ingridence that is put into your air ducts, they hope to have somone who is older in age so they can rip them off. They will tell you there is mold, when there is not. They will try to sale you a new A/C unit and take the one you have out today so that you have to pay them $$$. However the units you get isn't always new!! How about the electronic filter that you spend $$$ on. It only cost $35 to actually get it made and sent to you. They have a company that makes them and ships them.
If they rip you off, there is not much you can do. After a while, they will only leave you on hold cause you are complaining or they will just get another number and direct you to that line that actually no one is at...yes they do all this. They are also known not to pay their employees. They will have them work and then never pay them. or they will give them a $100.00 a week just to shut them up. How do they get away with this you ask??? Most people that are working for them could never pass a background check. You notice that they are not professionally dressed, drive vans with no logo, no number which by the way in the state of Florida it has to be on the van along with the license # and the number of insurance. So that should be a big sign for knowing that they are not a good company.
My advice to you...RUN. Never let them into your home. They will not pay you back. Look at the BBB you will see for your self. There are so many complaints on them. Look up the other names too. Bill Brogna is behind all of this. He is a loser and will keep finding a/c license holders to use their numbers to steal from customer and employees. Bad people.
I responded to an ad that was being run every day in the newspaper.Over the phone a salesman quoted me a price of $25 for cleaning up to 5 ducts plus $7 additional for each duct over five. When they got to the work site the price changed to $550. Cleaning the air handler and evaporator was additional. Of course, I needed a treatment for spores. I negotiated the price down to $350, they faxed the invoice to me but according to my tenant they never did any work for fear of not being paid. In retrospect, I was fortunate that they did not do any work as it became clear that I was dealing with a complete bait and switch operation. Very easy to get sucked in. Beware!
