We have a property in Austin, Texas, and had called out companies to remove a raccoon. Allstate offered to fit a trap, on the roof, and remove any trapped animal at NO COST. The basis described by the Allstate representative was that the TRAPPING WAS FREE, if the company could bid for any animal repair damage, cleaning, or future remediation services. There were multiple witnesses in the room, when the process and FREE ANIMAL REMOVAL description was provided. The Allstate representative insisted that a one page cover contract had to be signed, and i did so, with a note at the top of the page, commenting that we had heard and did not agree to any charges unless following remediation work was provided.
The animal (raccoon) was trapped and removed within 48 hours. Allstate delivered a remediation quote which was extremely excessive, and refused by our insurance company. We informed Allstate Removal that they would not be getting any repair work, and they agreed to stop constantly calling us, and the case was closed in late 2013, early 2014. We have had no further contact from Allstate Animal Removals until they called this morning, 4/21/2014, demanding a payment for services, without offering any description of services provided, except for some vague description about some type of administration charges.
This is racketeering and fraud by any description.
