Alpha Kinetix Electronic Repair Service, owned and operated by Gary Phillips, located at, 1038 SW 13th Court, Pompano Beach, FL 33069, in both my personal and professional opinion, after doing business with them, I believe them to be completely dishonest and incompetent, and in my opinion a complete and total rippoff and the worst electronics repair center in south Florida.
I am a professional musician and performer who has been in the music and entertainment business for over 30 years.
After attempting to do business with Alpha Kinetix and its owner Gary Phillips between January 6th, 2014 to May 4th, 2014, (Yes, thats how long it took to try and get a repair done), in my attempting to get my Behringer 1608 P.A. Powered Mixer repaired, I was continually lied to over that 4 month period of time concerning the availability of replacement parts.
I was continually told by Gary Phillips, the owner and repair tech, that Behringer was very hard to deal with in getting replacement parts, usually Behringer being out of stock on the parts needed or them never responding to his emails and phone calls, and so he would need to search for the parts he needed somewhere else, probably having to get them overseas and taking 3 to 5 months to get them shipped to him due to the packages having to be delayed and searched due to terrorism threats on packages coming in from foreign countries. He also went on an on continually telling me how substandard Behringer products are.
However, the day after dropping my unit off at Alpha Kinetix I personally called both Beringer, as well as an authorized Behringer repair center located in Tampa, Florida. I was told by both parties that the replacement parts needed were in stock and available but Behringer would not sell them to Alpha Kinetix and Gary Phillips since Alpha Kinetix is not a Behringer authorized repair center. A very different story then what what told to me by Alpha Kinetix and Gary Phillips. The authorized repair center in Tampa Florida even offered to drop-ship the parts needed directly to Alpha Kinetix and he could get them there in about 12 to 14 days which I told to Gary Phillips about but Mr. Phillips just blew me off.
Then I was told by Alpha Kinetix (Gary Phillips) that I would have to now be charged MORE than his original quote do to him having to seach for the alternative parts due to it taking up his tech-time, as well as him charging me for my 5 to 6 phone calls to find out the status of the the repairs.
After 4 months of going back and forth with Alpha Kinetix and continually being lied to I became so frustrated with the whole ordeal I just left my mixer there at Alpha Kinetix and walked away from the whole situation. I wouldn't be surprised if Alpha Kinetix fixed the unit using substandard parts (not authorized Behringer parts) and selling my unit to some poor unsususpecting person for a large profit.
As a professional musician and entertainer I strongly warn anyone looking for equipment repair to save yourself a world of trouble and aggrevation and avoid Alpha Kinetix at all costs. In my both personal and professional opinion I honestly believe that Alpha Kinetix is the worst of the worst, being completely dishonest and incompetent in their business practices.
