canceled event 8 days before show

Got a call from them today saying they were canceling the Anchorage show that was to be held in 8 days. They say it will take 30-45 days to refund my booth fee, even though I paid by credit card and they should be able to to refund that immediately. They had already canceled the show scheduled for July and postponed it to now, then they cancel again. I am at this point very concerned that this might be a scam, not a real show promoter.

Did you pay by credit card?

Think back. Remember that uneasy feeling you had when they said they didn't take credit cards and you had to give them access to your bank account so they could make a withdrawal for your booth fee. Look at your credit card statement, I bet it's not on there.

I was contacted by the representative of Amazing Pet Expos via Email a several times offering me a "last chance" discounts for the spaces at tshopper related trade show in DC. After speaking with them on the phone they convinced me to get a deal for 2 spots for $800 instead of 1 spot for $500. The trade show was scheduled on April 5 th in Washington DC. They canceled the event a week prior the event. A couple of weeks later they informed me that the event was rescheduled, and would be held in Maryland instead, in fall. I called them a numerous time demanding the refund explaining that the only reason I signed up was because of the location (Washington DC) . They refused to give me a refund, first. Tired of being redirected to different representatives where I left numerous voicemails without anyone contacting me back, I submitted a review on the social media. Immediately, I got a respond from Sheila, who was apologetic and promised me the refund, however, she redirected me to another person Jenn Reiss. Jenn reassured me that my refund would be sent out In May. I waited patiently. When I did not receive any refund I contacted Jenn Reiss again. First, she told me the refund was issued, then she came up with a different story saying that the refunds were delayed. Then, she told me that she would personally take care of the problem. 2 weeks later, still no check. Called her, and she came up with another story saying that she was away. finally she told me that she did not know why no one had sent me the check yet. She promised to call me with results in an hour. A couple of days later, no call from Jenn Reiss, no check. In addition, one of their representative also mentioned on the social media that they did not have any outstanding refunds... When I said it waS not true, that I Was still waiting for the refund, he/she got all mad and threatened me with their lawer. They keep redirecting me to a different representative, who comes up with a different story. I am not even sure if this company is legit.

Total SCAM

Same details as those others posted - Pre-paid for a venue - venue and date changed with short notice. No refund issued. Many hoops jumped through.

Know enough about events that Amazing Expos cannot CANCEL on the venue with such short notice - turns out they are not actually booking with the larger venues, (at least in my case) just advertising as such.

Do not sign their NDA - take it to the media!!

Filed complaint with BBB.

Amazing pet expos A e group, llc) has owed me $4,674.67 since december 2014, and has not paid me as of february 2015, despite written promises to do so. They are no longer responding to any attempts to communicate with them or their attorney.

In june 2014 i paid $900 to reserve 2 corner booths at the sacramento pet expo scheduled to take place on 12/06/14. On or around 11/23/14, i purchased specialized marketing materials, graphic design work, display fixtures, products for sale, etc. On 11/28/14, one week before the event, amazing pet expos sent an email to vendors canceling. Later investigation by a reporter uncovered the fact that the event venue had canceled the event with ape for non-payment as of november 21, 2014, a week before i and other vendors were notified, and days before most of my event expenditures.

Sheila rilenge, the ceo of amazing pet expos, emailed me december 1, 2014 to say that my expenses I had previously provided her copies of all my receipts and a spreadsheet detailing my expenses) would be included in an insurance claim she was submitting, and emailed me on 12/12/14 to say that a $900 check for the booth fees would be mailed to me via ups on 12/15/14 Pending the other expenses being reviewed in her insurance claim).

I did not receive a check or tracking number. After repeated inquiries from me, she emailed several weeks later to say that the check was not sent and that all further inquiries should go to her attorney. I emailed her attorney on 1/13/15 and gave a deadline of 1/27/15 to receive my refund. I have had not further communication from amazing pet expos or their attorney since that date, and received no explanation about why the ceo lied to me about the refund check.

I am in communication with other vendors who also have not received refunds. It appears that other pet expos by this company are also possibly being canceled with little notice.

I wish to receive a refund of my booth fees ($900) and of my other expenditures related to this event ($3774.67), totaling $4,674.67, since those expenditures could have been avoided with adequate cancellation notice, and since those products/services were for event-specific items. Based on the information i have, it appears the company did not behave in good faith. I am a small business, and this loss has damaged my business and represents a significant financial burden.

Were you ever refunded?

There are so many people in the WAKE of this companies damage. It is 4 years later and they are still doing the same thing to people.

They still owe me $450

The owner of the company, Sheila Rilenge, still wants to "talk about it". Hell, I paid for an expo over a year ago that was canceled with short notice and I was never issued a refund. Yep, she threatened me with litigation from her lawyer as well. I say bring it on, I'm considering initiating a class action lawsuit. This is a fairly common lawsuit in which a group of people (usually at least 20 people) with the same or similar injuries caused by the same product or action sue the defendant as a group. Please visit my website www PetExpoScam dotcom and fill out the contact form if you're interested in taking action. Thank you.

This company is a Rip Off Beware CLEVELAND OHIO 2015

Do NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE SCAM ARTIST! THEY TAKE YOU MONEY SWITCH THE VENUE AND DATE AND FORCE YOU TO ACCEPT THE SUBPRIME EVENT. THEY SAID THAT THE IX CENTER IN CLEVELAND DID A BATE AND SWITCH ON THEM BY NOT TELLING THEM THEY WERE UNION! THE PERSON WHO SAID SHE WAS THE VICE PRESIDENT BECAME DEFENSIVE WHEN I TOLD HER THEY SHOULD OF DONE THEIR HOME WORK ON THIS! THEN TRIED TO ACT AS IF IT WAS MY FAULT.

THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT REFUND WARRING!

Dawn,

This is not acceptable it was do to the failure of your office to notify me in a timely matter of the changes. I paid you in good faith and I expect the same from your company. If I had know 180 days out I would have told you of my issue. How can you justify this when your company caused the problem by not notifying me. Now I am being penalized for it. I really don't understand why your company fells this is the way to treat people.

We would like to file a formal complaint against Amazing Pet Expo for refusing to refund our fee after they indicated they would.

In Marcy 2015, Amazing Pet Expo was to hold an expo in Wasihington, DC at the Convention Center. Due to problems they had with a competitor the event changed dates and venues. If exhibitors chose not to participate, we were assured we would be receiving a refund and an upgrade for the next event. It has been over three months and I obtain no answers, via email or telephone call.

Long Island

They moved the LI venue to NYC without notice. Refused to issue full refund. I'm seeing a lot of reviews that show this outfit as a scam.
