American residential warranty was our home warranty company. We paid 78.00 a month to cover repairs to our home including appliances , systems and even daucets. Our dishwasher started leaking. The water backed up in the dishwasher and our double sink. We were told it was not the appliance but the plumb8ng. Peninsular plumbing was called out and we were told we needed a new garbage disposal. He replaced and everything went well for a week. We noticed water was leaking from under our kitchen sink and found the line from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal had a busted connector. Peninsula plumbing stated it had nothing to do with them but came out and fixed anyway.
A week later we saw that a oily substance was leaking from under our sink and garbage disposal waa making a noise. Called arw a third time. He said refrigerator line was leaking and a screw was in our garbage disposal. The only person who came in with any tools or screws was the plumber. Go figure. a few says later our dishwasher started leaking again and both sinks backed up. Sound familiar? Call ed arw who advised they were not going to cover because he came out 3 times. I advised that is because he never fixed the original issue which I told them repeatedly. They a I'd well wenpaid b him last time. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China. By out may ask why did I let this incompetent plumber keep coming to "repair" my plumbing? He is the only plumbing contracted in Tampa florida.so now our cabinets are ruined (they need to be replaced) we went to home depot and for a few dollars my son fixed the water repair from the kitchen sink and the stoppage. No one could believe this gentleman was a real plumber , the first thing everyone said was why did he not snake your drain? I believe he was too incompetent or arw was not going to pay him enough do he did something that would get him paid the most and obviously did not do that well. Arw did not care that I was not taken care of. I now have damage that could have been avoided had he done the job right the first time.ctime.cancelled service and was told I would have for the end of the month because they do not refund but found out that they can celled me on the 5th of April. We have went to sears for our home warrant20.00 less a month, covers more services ,24 customer service and coverage limits 10 times higher. Lesson learned for me , I hope this helps someone else so they will not be ripped off by this scam company.
Have had a contract with this company for years. For years they billed my credit card for the annual contract. The contract expired because the credit card expired. Never heard a word from them. I called to file a claim, they tell me now that the contract doesn't exist and that I would have wait 1 month for service. Years I am with them and there is a communication issue and they won't honor YEARS (10 + ) of customer loyalty...in the past when I had a claim, I had to fight for every payment they would make towards the claim. STAY AWAY. They are only about collected premiums. Shame on them.
American Residential Warranty claims to cover air conditioning repair but when it came time to repair my 5 year old air conditioner, they told me the particular part that needed to be repaired was not covered under their list of allowable parts. My air conditioning repair person could not believe it. He said in all his years of repairing air conditioners, he had never heard that line before.
I have religiously paid my monthly premiums for years and this is the only time I've submitted a claim. It was not even a huge claim - under $500. Perhaps they should issue a parts list with every policy so policy holders know exactly what is covered and what is not. Emphasis on the NOT.
