American Tire Depot Reviews

I needed to replace one of my rear run-flat tires on my BMW. It was the first time I had to use that type of service (never had run-flats before). I decided to buy 2 new tires to avoid unbalance.

First, it took forever to replace them, I came to the shop at 2 pm and got the car back at 7 pm. Around 4 pm I went inside the shop and saw 3 employees working on one of the tires and it was visible that they were having a really hard time taking the tire off the wheel. The manager Raul said they didn't have the right equipment to deal with run-flats.

Right away, I feared for the wheel rim as they were using metallic rods to try to separate the tire from the wheel. After getting the car back, I cleaned the rims and inspected them: one of them had deep scratches that seemed to have been polished off in an attempt to make them less obvious. Before this, the wheel looked like new, it didn't have a single scratch.

I messaged the manager and he said he will replace my damaged wheel free of cost with a new one. He said he placed the order and I didn't hear from him for ca. 1 month. I called back and talked to a different person, who had no idea about my case. He asked me to drop by and took all my information to see what happened to the order. Now a week later, as I didn't hear back from him, I called and yet another employee answered the phone, saying the 2 previous managers do not work here anymore. I had to call back since they said they would call me back and never did).

I call back the next day, and the new manager tells me that I have to come to the shop again so he can take my inforation again. When I get there, he says he will call me back to tell me what they will do about my issue. He calls back and says I have to bring my car in and leave it for 24 hours. I said ok and I asked if I was going to get a brand new BMW wheel like the one that was damaged, and he said yes.

I got suspicious so I called back and asked why they need the car for that long. The manager tells me they have to take the car to the dealership to make sure they are getting the right wheel. Meanwhile, I called the dealership and they said it takes at least 2 days to get a wheel delivered. I started to see that something was not right. After discussing with the manager, he finally told me they were planning on taking my car out to some workshop to "repair" the wheel but not get me a new one.

I asked to speak to the district manager. I was directed to George, who is located somewhere in Los Angeles, probably Cerritos. To make a long story short, after being told that I could not get a new wheel because mine was 3 years old, then being told that they fired the manager that lied to me, then being told that after all, I was going to get a new wheel (and all this took another month), I was told to go to the tire shop to get my damaged wheel replaced. When I got there, I saw the wheel and immediately saw it was a fake and a very bad fake.

I left the shop immediately, called George, left a message saying I am filing a complaint with the BBB, which I did. They never replied. I never heard from George again.

I had a terrible experience with this American Tire Depot location. There was a grinding noise coming from my car's left side so I brought it here. The manager had a mechanic look at it and he said it was coming from the brakes but that everything was fine.

So I drove it for a few days more until the sound kept getting worse and more consistent. I figured the brakes might just need oil so I brought it to the dealer. Well, they charged me $60 to take a look at it. They found out that the rear brakes were completely worn out.

I was placed in great danger since my brakes could've failed if I listened to their original diagnosis. I wrote into American Tire Depot's customer service department and they didn't even respond. Stay clear of this company!

I went in for help and charged $750 for belts and tires and head gasket....I had to go back 3 times because the belts were squeaking....then there was smoke coming from the engine...I stopped at a local garage and found out that this group of theives did not tighten the head gasket adnd screws were lose and missing...my convertible top did not work wither and I found out that I had a leak coming from power stearing. Their work is poor and only meant to make more work for them....STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE CRIMINALS-THEY WILL F-UP YOUR CAR AND GET YOU KILLED...
