Armando Montelongo Seminars, LLC Reviews

January of 2012, my son and I were watching an infomercial program where the Armando Montelongo Seminars were advertized. I have experienced difficult times with a failing business and Bankruptcy was just around the corner. I thought the Seminars were the answer to my programs. I did everything I could possibly do to borrow money from friends and family to attend the Seminar. January 19, 2012 we attended the “FREE SEMINAR”, which was only a sales pitch for a 3 day Seminar. We paid $2,994 for my son and I to attend.

On January 27, 2012 we attended the 3 day Seminar at the Marriott Hotel in Newport Beach. The entire 3 day Seminar was NOT what they pitched at the Free Seminar. The $2,994 Seminar was another Sales Pitch within itself! The first day we spent getting to know the team and hearing about their families and financial success. The final day was a push to get everyone to purchase one of the 2 packages (one package was priced at $31,495 and the other $41,495). I couldn’t afford the $31,495 and was only able to come up with $20,000. Again we collected the $20,000 from friends and family to attend and we were able to come up with the funds. The representatives take every penny they possibly can. The $31,495 package was “CONVENTIALLY” reduced to $20,000 so that my son and I were able to attend.

At both Seminars the sales pitch is the same. “You need to take care of your family”, “This is the only path to financial freedom”, “What is holding you back?”, “Say no to excuses”, “Investors take action now” etc.

I feel as if we were lied to, it was just one sales pitch after another in order for people to fork out more money. They sold a dream. The pitch was you don’t need good credit or money in order to invest in properties; you only need to obtain Hard Money loans. Hard Money loans have an incredibly high interest rate between 12%-21% and may go as high as 25%-29%. The interest alone will take all of your profits! That was their ONLY solution, their ONLY plan! They sold a dream to people that are facing financial difficulties.

On May 4, 2015 I submitted a formal refund request to [email protected]. To date, my email as been unanswered. Every time I call in to follow up on my refund, the Refund Department is either on lunch, on break, in a meeting or unavailable.

Below are the payments made to: Armando Montelongo Seminars

Purchase Agreement# 17263 Amount $1,497

Purchase Agreement# 17202 Amount $1,497

Purchase Agreement# 23390 Amount $20,000

I am looking to obtain a full refund so I can pay back my friends and family the money I borrowed. This program is a complete SCAM. I did not make a single penny. The sad part is at the end of all of this I was forced into Bankruptcy.

I am a 66 year old female, retired and on Social Security. My income is $1,450/month. In late 2013 and early 2014, I bought into Armando Montelongo's program, giving it $66,495 for real estate training. $25,000 was for training I was unable to attend. Within a couple months of paying $25K, my health began to fail, I was easily fatigued, feeling ill. And, the depression with which I had struggled for decades became exacerbated. In June, 2014, I was diagnosed with mononucleosis. Today, the fatigue continues to quickly wear me to exhaustion on any given day.

The Details:

During the first paid seminar ($1,495), in Denver in Nov, 2013, we were told the next seminar (the $40,000 “Bus Tour) would supply us with funding sources to purchase properties to either flip or hold for income. I remember the presenter, “Bob”, encouraging us to use credit cards as much as possible to help purchase property, so to get to the Bus Tour I put $20K on credit cards. Content of the seminar clearly lead attendees to believe they would find money at the Bus Tour to purchase their first property. In addition to training, this was a primary reason I went on the Bus Tour, to locate the professed financial source for funding purchases.

Alleged Deceit:

The funding sources revealed at the Bus Tour, in Scottsdale, AZ, were my own Roth IRA and loans from other students there. No other resources were made available. The most I found among the other students was a paltry $10,000, which that attendee did not want to loan to anyone. My own Roth IRA would not permit a bulk withdrawal, so was useless for investment in real estate.

Even after the discouraging funding info taken away from the Bus Tour, having already put $41,495 into it, I felt compelled to complete the training and possibly find funding sources at one of those two seminars in San Antonio. I was encouraged by AMS staff to put down another $25,000 for two more seminars in San Antonio and on-site mentoring in Denver. But, I did not yet have funds enough to cover travel and accommodations for the Texas seminars. Then, my health began to give me trouble. In June, I was diagnosed with mononucleosis, which I expected to run its course and see my health bounce back. But, after almost a year now, it has not.

By February, 2015, I knew I could never pursue the program:

Requesting the $25K be returned, I have:

Made 10 calls to AMS/PAG in San Antonio explaining my situation. I've been told by various personnel that I had 3 days to cancel. I've told them my health problems kicked in well after 3 days. Each time, I was told someone will call me back. No one ever has.

Sent two return receipt letters to AMS and PAG in March and April, which are unanswered. I explained to Mr. Montelongo and his Performance Advantage Group, the fact that I had put all my savings into his program, as well as some $20,000 in credit card debt; that I am on fixed income of $1450/month and because of my investment in his program, I am now quickly approaching bankruptcy. I begged him for mercy, requesting the unused $25,000 to avoid this. There has been no response.

With life-long excellent credit, retired on fixed income and deteriorating health, this is a very frightening situation for me. I am in danger of losing what little I have left, including my home.

You start off by being intrigued by the information you receive in the FREE seminar the speaker was so great he really made you believe that you were going to get into all these wonderful things, and not to mention the free gift you never get they don’t even have anything free not even a gift.

Once the FREE seminar is complete they offer you a 3 day course that will allow you access into their system, forms exclusively created by Armando’s attorneys, they convince you when you enter into a home by the end of the 3 day course you will know exactly what it will cost you on renovations and not to mention access to their network of lenders so you don’t ever have to use your own money. Sounds great so far, RIGHT!!

Those folks that are even considering attending a seminar class should think not twice but a third or even a fourth. Armando Montelongo Seminar, LLC misleads you to think you’re getting this great pool of knowledge and your really not. I recently attended a class in Sacramento, CA at the Hilton on Arden Way three 3 days and paid $1500.00 for nothing absolutely nothing. They start off by gaining your trust and you start thinking they have your best interest at heart, but in fact the heart they have at best is their own.

Please DO NOT MAKE the same mistake I made in doing so. They talk about their life story and how they made millions and how many properties they have procured and everything maybe true not verified and I’m not knocking them by any means but it’s a SCAM they even state to the tune of your barrowing monies from friends and even family.

They pump you up by trying to tell you tricks like increasing your credit limit (which is wonderful) only that they want you to increase your limits to sell you a $30,000.00 or $40,000.00 package, they give you information on Rent to Owns and lease option to Buy none of this information was ever addressed in the FREE seminar, they talk more about their life stories than you could ever imagine. If that’s what there well selling I wouldn’t have wasted my time and there’s.

After wasting my time and efforts I sent an email to the Armando Team, with no success after attending the class. Their thoughts for resolution is to offer me a value for my monies and my only response is my there is no value in the US currency but my currency in return. Still no word from Armando Team, please do not attend or pay for this class as you will be disappointed. Should you have any questions, please call me 916-945-6464. Thanks!
