A customer brought a two speed pool pump motor to Asap Pump Company. The customer asked the owner to inspect and repair the electric motor's bearings and wiring. The customer told the owner of Asap Pump Company that the two speed pump would not run on low speed but ran fine on high speed. The owner of Asap Pump Company voiced his opinion about the motor's failure and suggested thoroughly testing the pool's timer and related switches. The customer told the owner of Asap Pump Company that he would test the items in question. The owner of Asap Pump Company told the customer that he would inspect and test the motor and install new bearing(s) in the motor, if needed.
The customer picked up the motor the next day and reinstalled it. The motor still would not operate on low speed. The custmer then uninstalled the motor again and returned it to Asap Pump Company in Tucson. The owner of Asap Pump Company tested the motor and the motor did not operate on low speed. The owner of Asap Pump Company then told the customer that he would try to diagnose the motor, install new bearings if needed, and would contact the customer later that day. The owner of Asap Pump Company, nor anyone else in their employ, called the customer that day. The next day, the customer called the Asap Pump Company and was told by the owner that he (the owner) could not determine the cause of the failure. The customer asked for a full or partial refund. The owner of Asap Pump Company refused and blamed the customer for Asap Pump Company's incompetence.
It seems that a company that sells and repairs pumps and motors would test an electric motor before and after dis-assembling it to install new bearings. Blaming the customer is a weak excuse. Asdap Pump Company is a rip off.
