My new iPhone 5S 32G ($750 retail value- purchased April 1, 2014) was stolen on May 16th, 2014 about 9PM EST. I called to report it to AT&T immediately and deactivated the service to prevent intruders from accessing my business, and personal info stored on the phone. I followed the advice and steps given by the nice professional AT& T Rep/Jason that eve reported it to the local crime authority and contacted Asurion Ins to file the claim with a $199 claim fee. Since, I have made several contacts to AT&T and Asurion to resolve the issue and to get the phone replaced to no avail!! Yet, they have already charged my account with the $199 claim fee. The phone served as my sole phone for home, business and personal use. So my safety and security at home has also been compromised with its loss. I have been waiting 5 weeks for a workable iPhone replacement. It took Asurion three weeks to send me a defective replacement phone (could not hear the callers or the phone ringing out loud on that phone) after I reported my new iPhone 5S 32g stolen. Now, I have been waiting an additional 2 1/2 weeks for a workable replacement to be sent to me. Asurion Customer Service Reps are rude, lack empathy and not concerned about customer satisfaction. Yet, they have already billed my cell phone service account for the $199 claim fee that I don’t feel I should have to pay. There should not be a claim fee after such poor customer service and lack of customer satisfaction waiting such a long period then being sent a defective refurbished phone as a replacement for a new $750 retail valued phone and after returning the defective phone waiting even longer to receive another as requested new (not refurbished) -- fully working phone!!!
