I was also duped by the asus rebate scam. I sent all materials and the rebate was denied. Even the denial gave a link to my submission which clearly displays all the required documentation. The only solution is to never buy anything ever again from asus.

April 17th 2014 bought four nexus 7 tablets, two for my children's birthdays, one for my wife and myself. My kids wanted one and paid towards the units I got. When they came, one unit was DOA and another one had charging issues which actually the charging unit caught fire on the second. Trying to contact them proved fruitless and get sent to voicemail so I did two reports on new egg to warn others about their tablet products. The cords were flimsy and USB ports very soft. Both the charger and tablet are market UL approved but when checking with UL in regards to the dangerous chargers that run extremely hot I found out what has the UL stamp is not what was sent in to UL for approval rating. ASUS replied twice on new egg they would replace the units and chargers just to show good face on the website but has not done a thing whatsoever and will be filing small claims this week. I used to buy a lot of motherboards from them in the past and never knew how crooked the company was till I tried different products of theirs. Save yourself time and aggreviation and stay away from Asus products.

I purchased an ASUS Transformer AiO desktop in October 2013 and in January of 2014 my hard drive crashed and ASUS replaced my hard drive. I sent it in and it took approximately 3 weeks to have it sent in and returned. Less than one year after the hard drive was replaced, the hard drive crashed again. I contacted ASUS to have it serviced again and ASUS said the desk top is out of warranty. I tried to have a discussion with the technician as to why it would be out of warranty when it clearely had a problem 3 months after purchase and he really had no answer. I asked him to escalate this issue to the next level and he said that the wait time was long and they would have the supervisor would contact me. After 48 hours without a return call, I contacted them again and went through the whole process again. They once again stated that the desktop was out of warranty and I once again asked to speak to the supervisor. They said the wait time was long and they would have a supervisor would contact me and send me an email with an RMA number along with instruction to return the product for repair at my cost. It has now been 48 hours and I have yet to receive a call or the email.

This is not the first ASUS product I have purchased and fortunately the other device is working without any issues. The reason consumers repeat a purchase of a product from the same manufacture is because they feel the product is trustworthy. Based on my recent experience, I will never purchase an ASUS product again and will make it a point to let all the people in my personal and professional circle know the poor service I have received from ASUS and steer them away from purchasing an ASUS product.

I sent for a $40 rebate with Asus for a blu-ray drive on Dec 4 2014,on Dec 19 2014 I got a "Reminder" that they did not receive required documents,I keep copies of everything and resent on Dec 20-2014 with certified mail.I am waiting to see what they will do next,I advise anybody that if you buy anything with rebate from Asus, you must keep copies of the documents or they will deny your rebate,I sent many rebates, from other companies, all to the same address at El Paso, Texas and they all received except ASUS.Beware of this company.

Asus is putting repaired parts in their new systems and when they fail refusing to honor their warranty with bogus supposed "broken plastic" when there is no plastic involved.

My video card failed. after talking with 3 different people at ASUS I was assured the system was under warranty and that they would repair it. AFter having to spend my own money to ship it to them they took 4 days after receipt to determine that some un mentioned plastic part was broekn therefor ehte entire repair is out of warranty.

This is BS and I will be filing a complaint with the BBS and with the TX state attorney to have them run out of TX for breech of contract.

ASUS is a company that makes a variety of computer hardware and i will tell you their product stink. in all the years i've been in the computer business i've never had to send any type of hardware back to any manufacturer for repair and this tine with asus was different, my motherboard southbridge internal chip shorted out. i'ts going on 3 weeks now i'm waiting and my motherboard will finally come on 10.14.2014, after i send it back to their jeffersonville, indiana facility on 9.19.2014.

as of monday 10.15.2014 i'm officially boycotting asus and will never do business with them again. i'm a certified computer technician and computer are my livelyhood. if anyone wishes to contact me go to my website at:

www.antarticman1.wix.com/thecomputershop, and go to contact page and email me and i will respond promtly. many of my clients have complained about asus and now i must utterly stop doing business with them or my business will decline for i'm using my laptop now and it's not the same.

i'm grateful that i do have my laptop for emergencies and this is a big one.

BOTTOM LINE:

DON'T USE ASUS PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET DUPPED

Purchased a new computer that worked fine for about 9 months. Computer is needed and used for multiple hours each day by disabled individual, but DVD drive is only used occasionally. Suddenly the DVD drive no longer works, even though there had never been any problems with it previously and no changes have been made to the computer.

I am extremely computer savy, having built my own computers in the past. As such, I tried all the usual things that any computer repair person would try, but to no avail. I filled out a service ticket with ASUS and used their live chat system.

Their repair person had me try the same things I had already done. When they didn't work I was told I would have to ship my whole computer into ASUS for repair. I explained why this was totally unacceptable and asked to be transferred to a superior.

The superior I was transferred to held to the same line--that I would need to send in the whole computer. I explained that as a disabled individual my computer is my lifeline to the real world and that I would not be able to function without it for whatever indeterminate length of time it would take them to get it back to me. I would also need to hire someone to get it out of my office and package it up. Add to this the fact that shipping a computer loaded with personal information away to some distant location is simply BEGGING for identity theft.

I told them they could send someone to fix it on location. Their answer was no. I offered to remove the dead drive from the case and send that to them for repair/replacement. Their answer was no, opening the case would void the warranty. I stated that if they would not simply replace the drive or fix it on location that the warranty was worthless anyway. I asked them again to simply send a new drive. I said I would replace it, send them the dead one and release them from any further warranty obligations. Their answer was no.

If my refrigerator stopped working under warranty and the company told me I would have to ship it back to them to be repaired or replaced whenever they got around to it, everyone would agree that the whole idea was utterly ridiculous. Yet my refrigerator doesn't leave me open to identity theft. Sending my computer back is just as difficult and just as ridiculous.

Purchased a ASUS router from Fry's Electronics to replace failure router at home. ASUS indicated a $25 rebate. We had about 10 days to comply with filing restrictions. We got home, printed rebate form, cut out the UPC code from the box (it fit the outline of the UPC on the rebate form), submitted sales receipt and mailed same day.

On Feb 20 received email confirming receipt of our rebate form. On Feb 25, received an email declining the rebate stating wrong UPC had been submitted. Since there are only 2 UPC codes on the box, we cut out the second UPC barcode and mailed it to ASUS rebates.

We have subsequently called ASUS 9 times checking on the status of the rebate. Each time we have had to wait 15-30 minutes to get an agent to help us. Two weeks ago we were told everything had been received and the representative indicated that a supervisor had to approve the rebate and we would be receiving an email shortly. After waiting two weeks, called today and told nothing has been approved, but to call back tomorrow.

Obviously ASUS intends to make this a paper chase to cause customers to give up for the advertised and promised rebate. By constantly wasting customers' time and creating roadblocks, ASUS never really has to deliver on promised rebates. Very deceptive and unethical behavior by an established company. Shame on ASUS - there are alternative products out there.
