Auto Glass America Reviews

This company was an absolute nightmare! I trusted them only to get burnt in so many ways. The company promised me a $100 giftcard if I went through them for a windshield replacement. No problem, since I needed one. After the install, and waiting a few days for a responce, I called to see the status of my gift card. They told me my car wasn't eligible because it was a lower end car. THEY TELL ME AFTERWARDS!!! This is only the beginning. 2 weeks after the install there was a raining day and I noticed a leak from my windshield. I called and asked them what was going on and queried about my so called "lifetime warranty". They told me it wasn't their fault????!!!! But offered to put another claim in for another replacement. YA RIGHT! Please beware.

On 10-04-2014 I purchased at voucher from "Deal Chicken" for services from Auto Glass America. The deal included a replacement windshield on my vehicle, at no cost to me, along with a $100 "rebate" and a Restaurant .com gift certificate. I contacted the business and had my windshield replaced, via my insurance company, as per the terms of the voucher a few days later.

After having the chance to inspect the "job" they had done, I noticed that the piece on the bottom of the windshield called the "cowl" was not sealing correctly against the glass. I immediately called the local office here in Tampa that had done the job. I spoke with "Travis" and he said that the damaged part was definitely covered by their "guarantee". He requested and I sent him pictures of the damaged part.

After not hearing back from him or any other member of the company for at least a full day, I called back again and inquired about the status of my request. Travis said that he had not received the pictures I had sent, but then he suddenly was able to find them. He said he would "get back with me" after speaking with the technician that had installed my windshield.

After waiting another whole day, for a call that never came, I called the company back again. As Travis, as he had been before, was again busy on "another call" a message was left for him. Almost an hour later, I called back again. I was finally able to talk to Travis who told me that the technician had told him that the piece was "already damaged" when he got there and that he had told me about it that day. A TOTAL LIE!! Nothing like that was EVER said and my car is a two year old Chrysler 300 C with absolutely no previous damage or repairs!!!

At this point I had all that I could take. Now, not only was my $50,000 car damaged...they were calling me a liar!!! Furthermore, I later received a call from my insurance provider, Allstate, informing me that Auto Glass America had sent them an invoice for almost $500 more than the amount they allotted, $450, by industry standard for that same job.

Travis then told me that he was turning the information over to his "manager" and that I would receive a call the next day from the "manager" in reference to my claim. After not receiving a call by 11am the next day, I called back again. Again, I was transferred to Travis who attempted to give me more excuses. I told him that I was done dealing with him and that I would take the matter up with Allstate and the Auto Glass America corporate office in Arizona. He told me that I was welcome to do so and that he had "planned" to have his manager call me when he got in but, since I was taking this approach, now he did not see the need for him to make the request. I guess his "manager" sleeps in late.

Now I have a private insurance adjustor hired by Allstate coming to look at my car to try and determine why the invoice from the glass company was so far beyond what they allow for the same repair at any other local repair facility. I have also attempted to contact the corporate office in Arizona by telephone, but the calls are just being auto forwarded back to the same office here in Tampa that has done noting to solve the issue. I have also lodged a formal complaint with the Arizona BBB for Auto Glass America's corporate office located there.

I would just like to let you know what kind of company Auto Glass America is and that even the representative from Allstate has told me that this was "far from the first time they have had to deal with a problem from this company". In my opinion, Auto Glass America is a dishonest and fraudulent company that offers cheap incentive tricks, like cash back "rebates" or gift cards, to lure people in to using them. Then, they do substandard work, which they overcharge the insurance company for and leave you with broken parts along with a worthless guarantee.
