Last year my clutch went out while driving. The car remained in gear and in order to not lose power steering, I forced the car out of gear.
My mechanic informed me that the clutch actually broke as a result of a mechanical issue, and EasyCare granted coverage. The flywheel had liberated and the slave was broken.
Upon repair, the mechanic informed me that I had lost the gear I forced out of when this occurred. A new transmission was needed, and EasyCare refused to cover this, as I caused the damage to the transmission.
This whole event happened at once, and only because of the clutch. The car ran perfectly fine otherise.
This happened in Texas. Do I have any recourse, or does someone have a suggestion? The new transmission ran $3400.
