Who to report these sleesze balls to? Avangate keeps trying to renew my Bitdefender Account for about $79. Says I checked auto-renewal which I did not, since I never do. And then said I should log into or create a new account by clicking link provided. I didn't even know who they were. Not giving private info out. I e-mailed them back told them not to renew anything, not signed up for auto- renewal, and who are you? They e-mailed me back saying they handled all accounts for Bitdefender and other well known companies. I said, no thanks, I will renew with Bitdefender directly which I did at a lower price.

Still they keep sending e-mails that they are going to charge my account for renewal and I should make sure my bank account or credit card is current. I was pretty sure that my card wasn't so I didn't think it would probably go through, which it didn't. So then they sent me an e-mail - the day after I renewed with Bitdefender directly- saying there was a problem with my account and new Bitdefender couldn't be uploaded. Too late! I already did it without them. However they left the impression that my new sign-up didn't go through. They are really low lifes. Keep pestering when you tell them to stop multiple times. I will not renew with Bitdefender again next year if they are still associated with Avangate. I don't want to go through this again. And I will let Bitdefender know too.

For the last 2 months my bank has been charged for an item I did not order online. PayPal Avangate BV Prins Hendriklaan, followed by a M/C Charge to same person, has been the only things I did not order online. I have tried to contact them for a refund but i have not recieved any responce.

Beware when dealing with this company. If you are purchasing software from companies like: Bitdefender, Ashampoo, ABBYY, Advanced SystemCare, LoJack, Paragon, DriverMax, AVS4YOU, ConvertXtoDVD, Aiseesoft Video Converter, Atomic Email Hunter, Movavi Screen Capture Studio, VSO Downloader, and dozens of other lesser known programs; then you will surely be involved with Avangate. Avangate is the company that will be collecting your dollars and will then pay the software company.

Avangate will also keep track of when your software expires, and if by chance you clicked on the automatic renewal feature of the software company, then Avangate will go after your credit card or your method of payment and will collect or try to collect the FULL AMOUNT of the renewal subscription even though they (Avangate) may be selling the new version for less money; and even though the Software company itself may be offering "deep" discounts for the same new software.

For example: Avangate wants to charge me $89.95 for a one year subscription to Bitdefender Total Security, but on their own website, they are selling this for $79.95. But (((competitor's name redacted))) is offering me this exact same product for $39.95. Big difference don't you think?

Another MAJOR problem. Avangate will remind you of the renewal; they will advise you of the charges; they will even send you a bill. However, if you cancel the renewal with them and your renewal date passes, they will still want their money. How is this possible? Simply this: they claim that cancellations must go directly to the software company. The exact wording that they use is: " To cancel an order placed in the Avangate system, you must contact the software author from which you purchased the software."

Thus even if you cancel with Avangate, you are screwed! If you did not cancel with the software manufacturer then you are out of luck. How is that for being "Customer Centric" as they describe themselves?

Yet another problem I encountered: When I placed an order with Auslogics.com for a driver updater, I was billed by Avangate. I also received an e-mail from Auslogics through Avangate giving me the activation code. HOWEVER, before providing the activation code, the e-mail advised me to: ACTIVATE YOUR SOFTWARE BY CALLING ONE OF THESE 24/7 NUMBERS 1-844-287-3439 (toll-free for USA and Canada) 1-800-709-875 (toll-free for Australia).

It turns out that the US/Canada number connects you to an individual who NEEDS to enter into your computer to do the activation. Following is my complaint to Auslogics concerning this vile, deceptive, and underhanded method to elicit more money from a customer:

I purchased an Auslogics Driver Updater today (4/21/15)) and I received a message from Auslogics which provided the License Code, but it also stated that I should call 1-844-287-3439 to "Activate the software". When I did that, I was connected to a technician in India (see Correction below) who wanted to get on line access to my computer to "activate" the program. While doing that, he also went into my system and files, and researched all active programs and applications. He then got his supervisor on line who stated that I had 10 problems with my computer, and that they would fix my problems for $30 each.

He also offered that they would provide lifetime warranty on my computer and would fix any new problems that come up. I reluctantly agreed to this (as the referral had come from Auslogics) and because my computer was running fine but a bit sluggishly. I then provided them with my credit card information.

However, before I hit "Submit" on the credit card, this supervisor (which I later found was with Tech Live Connect - and they are in India) further informed me that I also did not have anti-virus security (although I have all the anti-virus protection I need via several programs).

Then he (the individual from Tech Live Connect) went into a long, long, long, un-interruptible sales pitch about what retail stores charge for anti-virus programs, and that his company would provide security for up to 3 computers for another $300.00 for 2 years. He would not let up nor continue with the activation unless I agreed. He became so obnoxious and so insistent that I had to tell him that I absolutely did not want any extra services. Yet he still would not stop and kept up the severe pressure.

Finally, I told him that I did not want ANYTHING at all from his company and that I did not want him to charge me for the activation either.

However he indicated that they were already working on my computer (even though nothing was being done on it since I was still on it), and that the charges were non-cancellable.

He became so obnoxious and so rude, that I had to shut the computer off and hang up on him.

They tried calling again but I have not answered.

I am furious about these HIGH-PRESSURE sales tactics and I definitely will write about them in various consumer oriented web-sites.

Correction: In the first paragraph I stated that the first individual with whom I was connected was in India. I am now not sure that it was India since he used a program through uis.edu which is with the "university of illinois at springfield online". Thus he may have been a student at the University of Illinois. However, the second individual was with a company called "Tech Live Connect" which does appear to be in India but may have an office in the US.

All in all, I would be very wary of ever dealing with Avangate again. I have requested that discontinue any automatic renewals on ANY of my software, but I doubt if they will honor my request.

By the way, I tried to find any information at all about Auslogics in Australia and hit a complete unpenetrable brick wall. I could not find who is their management, who is it owned by, who runs it, etc. They have a lot of programs that are "very invasive" into your and my computer, and it would be nice to know to whom we are entrusting the inner workings of our computers.

Avangate has an "auto renew" that they automatically enable when you register and open up an account on their website.

My Story with Avangate is that I did not catch the "auto renew" being enabled when I went to renew in 2014. I renewed (4) days before my expiration to get the discounted price and (4) days after I renewed (early), and paid for that by credit card, they charged my credit card full price ($79.95) for the exact same product (due to the auto renew being enabled).

So, in other words in April of 2014 they charged me TWICE for the same thing. Avangate's customer "support center" refused to refund the extra (second) charge claiming it was past the refund period. Yes, I did not notice this second charge for 2014 until renewal time April 2015. But, that should not matter. Avangate should not (ethically) collect charges for the same product twice.

Despite submitting proof (credit card statements) to Avangate's customer "support center" they refused to admit to, or refund the second charge.

Avangate, as far as I am concerned, does not seem like an ethical company! I will never do business with them again!

Beware of their "auto renew" on their website, which they automatically enable when you register, and buy their products online.

My guess is that like me, the "Auto renew" is not something a lot of folks will catch.

I s software spymasterPro online from a company(Avangate.com),i was sent an email with a download link for the software, only to discover that the download link was fake and would only take me to www.spymasterpro.com where a message was waiting which said "the page you are looking for does not exist".I lost my money(€85.95) to these fraudsters.I hope they can be stopped so other people won't fall victim.

I received a message in my Email thanking me for ordering IOBIT and the charge to my credit card. I sent back a message saying that though I had ordered their product three years ago I no longer used it (Switched from PC to MAC) much less reordering it. They billed my Discover card anyway not once but twice on the same day for the same product. I had difficulty getting it off the Discover card because somehow in spite of my dispute they somehow convinced Discover that the charge was legitamate.

I foolishly agreed to buy the Avangate "upgrade" on my Slim Drivers program. After much discussion and difficult to understand personnel, I finally agreed to let them do a diagnostic remotely and I bought the services for $199.99. I told them I could not afford that. They told me not to worry, I would not be charged until the 30 day grace period was over.

After being on the phone for the better part of an hour and half, my computer was "fixed". I think it does perform better, but I have to wait and see.

I looked at my bank account on line that night after our conversations (numerous) and found they had charged my account the full amount. When I called to complain that this was not the agreement, the best they could offer was reducing the price by $100. A lot of the problems stemmed from the language barrier and poor customer interface - techs were arrogant when i asked questions so I should have known I guess.

I am stuck with this now and can only hope that my computer improves. So far it seems to have, I don't know. Please beware when dealing with these people.

I recently sent a email to Privax, a known company who stand for HMA, to ask them how i could pay them in a different way.

That's where Avangate came to email me to send money by making a transfer to Abn Amro Bank Amsterdam in some other details that i will not show here for security reason.

They keep on sending me emails, and they even tried to gain access to my paypal account on the behalf of Privax.

I made a complaint to Paypal and now Paypal investigate this company.

But in my complaint here, i just want to tell that Avangate keep on asking me to pay them by sending me emails two-three times a week. I consider them fraudulent. I've made some research about them and it seem that they allegate to stand for a lot of known internet services company.

My computer needed support, and I hit my Norton Symantec icon. A response popped up and asked to call me. I gave my tx and got a call within a minute thinking it was Norton. Clearly this was outsourced to India, but that is not unusual. I let them logmein to my computer, and immediately that said my SERVER was hacked. For $349 they could protect me. When my computer was fully ruined (I needed to download a new accounting software and couldn't do that), their incompetence ruined all. They tried to blame QuickBooks for the poor quality download and tried to even sell me 2014 and as they are so generous the 2015 version! Really? Clear red flag now went up and I declined. With the charge going though Capital One, the info shows the company is called Avangate. I called Norton Symantec, and they have NO relationship to Avangate! This is a scam company.
