I bought Avast Pro Anti Viris Program. I installed on my desktop. I later tried to install on ny laptop. I called avast and was transfered to Avast total support. I had to let them take control of my computer then was told I needed to purchace the Total Support Tech. support so he could fix all problems for me. He did not get everything fixed. I was told he was getting off the phone and asked me to take a survey telling how satified I was I thought he knew what he was doing from what I saw so I gave a very good rating. It was not until later after he finished that I saw that everything was not fixed.

I then waited until my vacation to call Avast back, when I called avast I was having trouble with my desktop so I asked them to get it first. I let them connect to it and ran errands a few hours later i checked he was finished. I got on for about an hour or two. I logged off and shut down. The next day I turned it on it came up saying configuring stage 3 of 3. I left ny computer on all day and night and all day the day after. I called avast total support and explained what was happening. She then tried to get it working, she then told ne to turn it off for 1 hour then call back. I got another lady she could not get it to come up, so I was told I'd have take it in for repair.

I called back after getting my computer back and asked for a refund. I was told there was no way I could get a refund because services were perforned. I then ask to be repaid for the cost of having it repaired which was $164.88 I was told no I could let them service my other computers. i told her I would not let them service another computer after the service I had received. I was also told that I was told it was a charge that was not refundable, I said services performed were not competed to my satisifaction.

There was an issue with a program on my computer. The Retailer Customer Support detected viruses, errors and other problems with our computer that may be impeding the program. They offered a clean/repair service. I requested a list of said viruses, errors and problems that warranted service. Was assured that one would be provided after service. We complied. Service was rendered through an online Technician. When complete, no summary was provided. We contacted Customer Service again to verify completion and obtain a summary. They said they only had a log of programs used for the clean/repair service. I repeated my request for a summary and list of errors. I was denied. I requested a refund. I was denied. The original program that prompted this issue still does not work. Our computer ran fine before the program and service and continues to work fine after. I simply want proof that said service was performed or a refund.

Avast antivirus does not protect anything, it makes your computer worse. They give you problems and when you call, they want to sell you more services e.g. their engineer will look at your computer and manually remove the problem that 1) they either put it in your computer on purpose, or 2) their software failed to clean! Stay away from Avast!

Upon renewal, after processing payment, Avast stopped working. No confirmation from the interface, it just froze. I immediatly contacted their phone support.

Tech #1 "what you need is an email I wil send."

As I entered my email I find a confirmation email giving me my license and activation links that was not there before. I asked "Can I just use the email I just found?"

His reply and the beginings of my suspicions "No it won't work because it has to be done this way."

Why wouldn't the activation email work? Seemes like I just missed an email.

So I yielded and complied using the email he sent.

His instructions were simple, save file, then open or double click file. Google mail, which many people use, opened it in Google Doc. Not something I am familar with but one would think a tech would be.The opened file just sat there and looked very much like a read me file.

I asked, "What do I do with this." He made no further effort to resolve the issue and immediately said " It's your computer, I will have to transfer you to tier two tech support. We can't possibly know everything that is in your computer that is blocking our program."

I said "Fine get me to someone who can fix this!" Then he mentioned the charge for tier two support.

Needless to say his lack off effort and training was evident but I felt this was a deliberate scripted event.

After stating how displeased I felt and that this seemed like a scam; I hung up.

Called back:

Tech #2 "what you need is an email I wil send."

I explained I already tried this with a previous tech and asked, "Can you tell me what to do with the file?"

She seemed nice, willing to help and put me on hold. I was given to a survey which garnered the lowest ratings I could give and the call ended by its self.

Called back:

Tech #3

I explained I got an email and I just don't know what or how to deal with it. I also stated this is not something that should need tier 2 pay support. His replies were exactly the same; your computer, can't know whats on it, tier 2 pay support only way to fix.

I have requested a refund the same day I renewed the product and made this post.
