I have owned my Badboy mower since 2009. I am a homowner who uses the mower for cutting my 1 acre yard. I have 200 hours on the mower and have changed the oils and filters myself. Recently i started having problems with the mower not being able to go up the 4 degree incline in my yard. I got the manual that came with the mower which said to adjust the tensioner on the drive belt. Well when i climbed under the mower i was surprised at what i found. the tensioner and spring were adjusted so that there was no room for any adjustment. The manual also stated tyhat the spring should be gaped .030; enough to slide a business card inbetween the spring coils which mine has no gapiong in the spring. I called the service departnment at Badboy and I will agree with some other people who posted here that siad they are rude and unhelopful. Badboy siad that i need a new drive belt.
I questioned that statement because if I get a new belt I was concerned that a new belt won't have any room for adjsutment as well. My concerns turned out to bwe true. Here are the pictures of my tensioner and that of a new one which is self explanetory

I feel that there is a certain design flaw with the mower and that Badboy knows about it and chooses to not do the right thing which is to repair it. Stay tuned...........
