Consumers should be aware that if you use your credit card to purchase books or anything else from this store what you believe is the reciept signed to authorize your purchase also authorizes Books-a-million to send your credit card information to "magazine rewards center" in order to pay for this so called "3 free magazines". The trick is you must ask them to cancel the subscription within 45dys. These scams always end up in consumers never being able to get a human being on the phone or some other impediment to actually cancel the subscription.
Although their cashier Abigail repeatedly claims how easy it is to cancel she is not very convincing and never seems to make eye contact while running her lines. This bait & switch magazine scam has been played many different ways and cheapens the reputation of Books-a-million. I believe when company's allow themselves to be used by unscrupulous magazine hustlers it destroys the credibility of these stores. If you're ensnared by this scam I suggest immediately calling your credit card company and have a notice placed on your file listing magazine rewards center by name.
