This company is a secondary market reseller of tickets that I am embarrassed to say I worked for, in other words, they are a ticket broker. This company not only uses deceptive marketing practices to promote its business, but also advertises falsely. Poor consumers are lured to use their site by their marketing practices of spending $25,000 - $50,000 a month on SEO marketing to insure that their Google ads comes up first when consumers looking to actually call the various box offices' of the respective venues. Whenever a consumer does a search for the keywords Box Office, their ad takes the first position and defenseless individuals are prone to call thinking it's the box office. Likewise, when a customer has found inventory that they are interested in purchasing, they are often lured into calling by an often hard to navigate website designed to get the consumer to call.

Once the consumer calls, the seats that the consumer is interested in, is automatically not available and we were instructed to find different seats of comparable value, whereas we can markup the tickets even more.

On the website, the company is maxed out at a service fee of 25% and they do indeed discount the tickets to remain competitive. So the consumer is initially thinking that they are buying tickets that are a good value and then are struck with exuberant service fees. This organization generates in excess of $20 million dollars annually which can be verified, as they report to the Inc. 5000 and are listed as one of the fastest growing companies in the US.

Currently their strategy is to utilize their revenues from their well-established web business and redirect it to opening several call centers whereas customers call in presumable to the box offices of their respective venues, to only be duped by highly skilled sales individuals.

To add more insult to injury, consumers call in thinking that they are buying from a primary vender and if, and only if the consumer directly asks whether we were located directly at the box office of the venue do we acknowledge the truth. Also consumers often believe that we actually own the inventory we are selling. Mr. John Uhrich takes advantage of a strategy often utilized in the financial markets called arbitrage, whereas they find the purchase the tickets after they have already been sold to the consumer. So in essence they are selling something that they do not own in the first place, only to buy it after they process the transaction with the consumer to leverage their risk of a card declining and being stuck holding inventory. Matter of fact, part of the sales process is to determine the event and venue then find the primary source and purchase the tickets there. These purchases are then made on his American Express card, which he then pays off with the monies he collects from the consumer. And G-d forbid a transaction goes sour, he holds the sales individual accountable with their strict violation policy, whereas they take monies from their commissions. As for the commissions, the commissions are paid based on the level of margin generated. So to make a 16% commission on the sale we would have to generate a total of 60% markup on the transaction between the cost of the tickets and the sales price with service fees we charge. This drives the salesforce to be more aggressive to make a decent living. The smallest percentage paid is 4%. So in other words Box Office Ticket Sales retains an average of 84% - 96% of the revenues generated.

Now I will discuss their hiring practices. They do not hire employees directly, as they would then be liable for these employees. Instead, they hire through staffing agencies, whereas they can hire and fire as they please. They do not have an adequate training and development program and “throw people into the fire.” If you do not make it they will fire you indiscriminately. I have personally seen approximately 10 people come and go in a little over half a year. Training consists of John Uhrich (CEO figuratively lol) standing over ones shoulders screaming at them and throwing things; otherwise he sits in his office and constantly “screens calls.”

All in all this company is a fraud and is growing do to their deceitful business practices and there is no government agency that is stopping them. So I chose to do the socially responsible and ethical thing of informing the public. Caveat emptor my dear consumers, caveat emptor

I called my local Theater and the call was routed to "Box Office Ticket Sales." Box Office Ticket Sales quoted me 5 tickets to a Broadway show in Tampa,FL at $89.50 each total $447.50. They confirmed the sale in an email to me for a show in Jacksonville, FL. They refused to correct the order.

On the 20th of January 2015 I dialed, what I thought was the telephone number for the Florida Theater in Jacksonville

Florida.

I did not realize that I was talking to some one other than a representative of the Florida Theater box office.

The next day when I received my tickets via the internet ,and speaking to friends I realized that

I had incurred a 100% mark up on the Florida Theater's ticket price.

I immediately called them and the reaction from Box Office was REALLY BUYER BEWARE.

I am writing this in order for others to be AWARE.

My attorney sent me a copy of a complaint printed on January 19th in Rip OFF where a complaint was printed from an employee of Box Office describing exactly what happened to me.

I saw the 1/19th complaint too late.

I did not realize that when they told me that they do not take American Express it was because

American Express will not do business with them.

Where do I begin...

This is from a former employee of Box Office Ticket Sales.

This company uses SEO generated leads, and tricks unknowing and unwilling people into using their services. Using high pressure sales tactics and flat out lies, people are manipulated into using these people as a "good" source for buying their tickets to events.

They have their headquarters in Omaha, NE. They hold an office of sales representatives in Chicago IL and both the owner and co-owner are both currently running an office is Miami Florida.

When I say SEO, I mean search engine optimization. This company pays outrageous amounts of money to have their phone number pop up first in all major search engines such as bing or google. This number then leads to one of their call centers. The employees are literally taught and forced to misrepresent themselves. They may not outright say that they are NOT the venue you are trying to call, but they will use very clever and manipulative measures to get you to trust them (which you absolutely should not). As soon as you call, the tickets you found online are suddenly "gone" or "those seats are not together, don't you want to sit with your children?!" Or some other shady sales line is used to trick people into paying far too much for seats to an event.

they then collect your information and credit card number, with a promise that your tickets will arrive soon. A few problems with this..

Many, MANY venues have banned any sales from this company. Meanibg, that any tickets you pay inflated prices for, are often unattainable for Box Office Ticket Sales. This causes them to purchase large amounts of visa gift cards, both in Canadian and American dollars. They then will use YOUR NAME AND INFORMATIONto register these cards and buy tickets to your event, all while paying a small fraction of what you paid them, thus turning a profit, and ripping you off. And that may very well be some major form of fraud or identity theft.

If they were able to buy tickets themselves, then they just edit their names off of the tickets. In fact, there's an entire department paid to edit tickets, so as not to give up the identity of the actual purchaser or the real price of the tickets. These people teach every person in the organization to be a liar, con artist and a fake. No single person in this company should be trusted.

Need more proof? American Express has dropped them as a vendor. If you call this company and try to purchase with an Amex, they will come up with some bogus excuse as to why they can't accept Amex anymore. The truth is, they literally cannot process anamex because they are far too risky of a company to work with. AKA they are a HUGE risk for chargebacks.

Meanwhile, this owners if this company hold their sales representatives at fault for these issues and literally make them PAY ($$$$$) for these mistakes, but that is another issue completely which I plan on taking to the right people.

A long story short, this company is complete fraud. Always, always ask the person on the other line if they are who they say they are and make sure the call is recorded. Say the right things and you won't get burned.

I call it the Perfect Ticket Selling Scam. I am a disabled sixty-one (61) year old man that lives on a very fixed income. For my wife and I and friends to attend a special event is a rare treat for us. Last week I purchased tickets for an event in Orlando, Florida which we attended last night. The seating chart on the Box Office Ticket Sales website clearly showed section 102 of the CFE Arena immediately in front of the stage. I am 100% sure of this. I was told that our seats were located four (4) rows from the stage. When the four (4) of us arrived at the arena we were shocked to find that our seats were up in the stratoshere. I literally would have brought my binoculars if I had known where we would be sitting. I contacted Box Office Ticket Sales today and spoke to a sales agent and to a "Supervisor," by the name of "Josh." He had the perfect ticket sales scam answer, "we gave you the section and row and seat that you ordered." They completely dinied the seating chart deception. I informed them that I wanted fifty percent (50%) or all of my money back. They completely rejected the thought of any refund. I paid $290.50 for these four (4) tickets. What a scam!

BOX OFFICE TICKET SALES IS A TOTAL FRAUDULENT COMPANY. I called in and purchased four tickets for a local music concert. I was told the tickets would be electronically emailed to me immediately. I was also told the four tickets would be 2-Day Fed Ex to me and I'd have them in two days. When the tickets did not arrive I called in and spoke with several sales people. All of them telling me my tickets would not be sent until four days before the concert, which is two months from now. I just didn't have a good feeling in my gut.

My husband called in and posed a ticket buyer and they told him the same thing, he would have his tickets in two days. It is a TOTAL SCAM. I called the actual concert hall where my concert will be and asked if my four seats were still for sale and one of them was still for sale. I have since purchased four legitmate tickets from the actual concert hall and am hopeful that I can get reimbursed from my bank. DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS FROM THIS SELLER!!!

I also was ripped off by these misleading scammers. I paid 112.00 for 57.50 ticket, and I bought 5! The scam went like this: they have brialliantly named themselves Box Office Ticket Sales. This is how every venue answers the phone. I was led to believe they were the actual venue. As I'm looking at the seating chart on line showing available seating, I was told those seats are no longer available and through high pressure and rudeness they push the seats they control on you stating these seats are the best available at any price. Later I found better seating the week of the show! They took my credit card info charged me double and took my personal information. Then they contacted the venue representing themselves as me and purchased the tickets at the actual venue price with my information and stuck the purchase on a Visa gift card. I confirmed this with the box office manager accidentally when she told me she sold me the tickets herself as I was the only one to buy 5 VIP seats in a row. She had talked to me personally. But I had purchased my tickets from a gentleman. It couldn't have been me! They send you the gift card telling you it has your personel info encoded (for your security)and I'll need that to get my tickets. I know from past shows, you have to show ID, confirmation # and the card used to purchase the tickets at the box office to collect your tickets. I did cancel the transaction with my credit card and filed a dispute. I could have scammed the scammers and went to the show for free as I had the actuall gift card they were purchased on, but did not collect the tickets and stayed honest. Months later they are still trying to get the money from me and I never went to the show or collected the tickets. Stay away from these guys!

I thought I was calling into Massey Hall Box Office to purchase upcoming concert being held in Toronto, Ontario Canada in September.

The telephone operator stated that they were selling me the best ticket available and the best pricing. Unfortunately I went onto there website within 1/2 hour of the call to find out I had been ripped off. I paid $1500.00 for a single ticket for a ticket which was available on their website by a vendor for $421.00.

I called back twice they said I made the sale and all sales final. No exchanges, refunds. I have reached out several times to there customer service. Very frightened I thought I was talking with legitimate Box Office (Massey Hall). They were not willing to cancel the order even though I called back within 1/2 hour, no exchanges.

I called my credit card holder to notify of my concern.

In speaking with the manager, Sunday August 17, 2014 - he stated they do not have access to tickets on their own website? This is very scary, you are trusting a telephone customer service operator who to me sold me the most expensive ticket that was for sale. There is a big difference between $421.00 and $1500.00. Something does not make sense. I feel ripped off and they made no effort in working with their customer.

This company frightens me in the way they handle their customers, the seller had not been paid, nor sent out the ticket. They had plenty of time to make it right. Called 4 times no success in making things right.

No refund, I have only to wait until Monday, and have AMEX dispute charge. Again why is the phone number and the website not linked or accessed prior to making sale to customer.

I am very sad, angry and ripped off. Thought I was talking with legitimate business.

My husband received a presale code to purchase football tickets for the 2014 season. His phone locked up and the code became locked. We googled the venue name and up came a website that had the pictures like the venue and team website with a phone number. When my husband called to explain the issue he was having with his presale code the sales person did not inform him that she was not the box office at the venue and could not help him with the presale code. Instead she took an order and lead him to believe he was talking to the venues box office.

When I called them to tell them he had been misled they said there was nothing they could do but send it up for a supervisor urgent review. I am sure we will not hear back from them and we are being charge triple what the presale ticket amount is! I will never ever use this company to purchase game ticket or any other tickets for that matter! This company is a total RIP OFF and misrepresent themselves especially on the web! Please make sure you know who you are dealing with and that is it not the Box office of the venue you are trying to get tickets too. We learned the hard way!

Initially I looked up the phone number to Centinial Hall, University of Arizona. When I dialed the number I was informed that it was the Box Office. I asked if this was Centenial Hall and was told yes that they handle ticket reservations. After agreeing to the price of two tickets at $200 each plus tax I soon received an e-ticket for two. Next, I also received a confirmation stating the cost was for two tickets plus tax ,e-ticket charge and "Misc. Expenses" amounted to $508.21.

On the confirmation was a charge for "Misc. Expenses" in the amount of $81.71. I immediatly called and was told that someone would contact me. When this never happened I sent an e-mail and that also was never responded to. When I "googled" a phone number the customer service person said that I had agreed to the

final total total of $508.21 which I had not and hung up. This company is a fraud that is preying on honest people looking to buy tickets to an event. I have challenged the "Misc Expense" of $81.71 with my card company,

American Express.

I bought tickets to concert from company. Event was canceled without notifying me. I asked for refund and they stated all sales are final and show has been ""rescheduled"" 3 months later.
