Fernando Magal of Brick & Stone Paver, LLC stole $5,700 from us. On July 11, 2014 we paid him $5,700 via check as a 50% deposit for a retaining wall. The total bid was $11,400. It is now November 2014 and Fernando has done very little work. He does not return phone calls, refuses to give us our money back and claims he is broke. We have had to hire another company to start all over and build our retaining wall. The work Fernando did complete was not per the engineer report. He installed much smaller diameter rebar than the report required and only vertically rather than horizontally and vertically. He dug only ½ of one pier when 5 piers were required per the engineer. No concrete was ever poured. This is the only work he did complete and if completed as is would pose a danger to our building and be a safety hazard as the wall would be inadequate to support the weight and collapse. Avoid Fernando Magal of Brick & Stone Paver at all costs. He is a con-artist. The positive reviews online of him are all fake and done by a shady search optimization company.
