I had been looking around for a personal loan and a couple days later I get an email from capital one. They had stated I was approved for a loan for $4509 and I had 36 months to pay it off and it wasn't expensive so I agreed to it. First I was to send a check for $45 For wire feed. Then it was well you have to Carry this insurance. So we need a check for180 .Then it was something to do with more fees in the amount of $216. I, like a desperate moron sent in the money., at that point I was Leary and everyone I talk to promised my loan money would get deposited in no more than 20 minutes. So now I'm here even deeper in depth with no loan funds from them.

On Jun 2 there a an unauthorized debit of usd 530.18 from my business account with CAPITAL ONE. I found out about this withdrawal on Jun 4 and contacted Capital One and advised them of the unathorized debit. The agent took down all the information and advised that Capital One will investigate of the charge. I followed up with the bank and on Jun 10 I received a letter from the bank denying my claim because I did not report the case within the required time frame. I called the bank and the agent said Capital One only gives 24 hours to business account to report any fraud or illegal withdrawal. 24 HOURS ONLY......This was totally a shocked to me. I called Chase bank on the other line and inquired about their policy and was told they offer upto 60 days to dispute the charge. I tried to justify with the bank but the agent was adamant not to help and simply the bank can do nothing. In today's world where Cyber theft, identity theft is so rampant, how can anyone bank with Capital One ?? only 24 hours protection.

Only one conclusion to my understanding Capital One does not want to protect financial security of their Business Clients.

As a SIX star credit rated consumer, I have never missed a payment on any credit card. I made the terrible mistake of signing up at Costo for a capital one platinum card that was part of their membership offering cash back that I still not have received.

But thats not the case, I had a FRAUDUELENT CHARGE OF OVER $1000 made to my card. I have an auto set on my account which I thought was a good idea, that anytime a charge of a set amount goes onto my card that I am immediately notified by email. Upon receiving this charge of $1000++ I immediately contacted capital one.

My call was simiar to that of a 3r world country back in 1998 asking for tech support for windows. You know where basically asked you if your computer is plugged in?

Well I made the report with them and have now called in more than 9 times to rectify this.

They escalate to their so called investigations dept send me a letter with a a 855# to call. I call in it than asks for a 7 digit code to contact the investigator which is NOT IDENTIFIED IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM ON THE LETTER...DA!!!!

Frustrated I decided to call Costco with them on the line to listen to the stupidity of the service. Today I get my statement there still charging me for that amount so I call in again. I did not have my card with me so the girl asked for my telephone number. I gave both my cell and my home at which time she says. "Your not a cardholder with us sir" I repeated my number and she kept telling me the same thing. I asked to talk to a manager and she kept me talking in cirlces for 10 mintues. Finally put on hold music crackling and blaring on hold 9 minutes later my call was answered by a manager. I explained the situation regarding how my call was being handled by the escalations department, that no on was leaving a name or number on the letter, when I did get called they left a 7 digit code on my cell, when I called back there was NO VOICEMAIL OR IDENTIFIER AND I CALLED BACK 6 TIMES AS THE LINE WAS BUSY PRIOR.!?!?!?

The manager than says to me "I will have someone from our escalations dept call you back. I urged her to have someone from UPPER MANAGEMENT CALL ME BACK AS YOUR ESCALATIONS department phones are not set up properly or someone is not doing their job properly I remarked. I am now calling costco again to share my CAPITAL ONE THIRDWORLD EXPERIENCE. ABSOLTUELY BRUTAL SERVICE. REDEFINING IGNORANCE as to how many peoples credit score will be affected by these A-holes remains to be seen. Im done.

My sister received a call from sebastian He had an indian accent) at (817) 400-4319. He said he was from capital one bank and would be able to offer her a loan in the amount of $4500 She had filled out an on-line form looking to be matched with short term loan services).

Sebastian offered the loan at 9% apr, with a 36 month term at $159.00 per month. The money was to be deposited the next day at 9 a.M. After agreeing to the terms, but not signing any paperwork, sebastian calls back and says their front office says she would need to submit a $225.00 application fee. It had to be in cash, not credit or debit, as they aren't allowed due to previous customer complaints. My sister went to the store and purchased a paypower card and gave sebastian the information. He stated she would have the money on monday by 11:00 a.M.

Monday, she gets a phone call saying she would need to pay another $220.00 for federal tax, which is 10% of the loan amount. Since sebastian made a mistake in not mentioning the tax, he would be willing to pick up the difference of $230.00 for her. All she needed to do was get another paypower card and send in that money. At that point, my sister called me to get involved. I called sebastian to ask more questions because it didn't seem right to pay a fee in advance of getting the money...That's why there is interest. I asked if they were affiliated with capital one bank. He said not, then he wouldn't answer my questions Since i wasn't on the loan), so my sister and i called him together. The more questions i asked, the more aggitated he got. Finally, we asked him for documentation of the loan. She received a pdf copy of an agreement. The email was a gmail account. The emblem was capital one bank's. There were 2 names mentioned, consultant, david alexander and mark brown, funding manager.

Sebastian called my sister this morning to ask for payment. My sister said he wasn't getting any. He said she and her sister wasted his time and hung up on her.

If you are looking for a loan, do not send anyone money to get the loan! it is a scam.

I've been a Capital One cardholder, on and off, for close to 10 years. I was disgusted recently when my account was restricted due to FRAUD. My account is frozen because they requested that I supply the drivers license and social security card for authorized user that have been DELETED from my account. I followed ALL of the written policies provided to me by Capital One when it comes to adding new users to my account and I take full responsiblity for the purchases that were made on my account, so I can't understand why I'm being accused of fraud?!? I have never been late or missed a payment so this is insulting.

Capital One never asked me for any of these documents from these individuals up front, or during the period in which they were on my account and I followed their instructions on how to add and delete them. I don't understand why I'm being punished. Their policy indicates they will tell me about "limitations before adding any new Authorized Users to my account" but I wasn't told ANYTHING instead I was blind sided with a frozen account that is worthless to me.

To add insult to injury they won't give me a straight answer on why this information is needed. They claimed this can't be "discussed with the account holder". This is MY account, if the problem is that SERIOUS, I have the right to know. And being a responsible cardholder I should still have an account.

I have had a Capital one credit and it was converted to a no annual fee card. Now Capital One is refusing to give me a losy $39 credit for the annual fee. I never paid this fee because they always waived it. I am an excellent customer and always pay my bills on time. I have other credit cards with higher limits and they don't charge any fees. For a week I have been arguing with them and they are refusing to give me this lousy $39 credit. Stay away from them people. Their customer service is not aware of what's going on. They don't even know the correct credit card you have. It's not even the $39 so much. It's the point of the way they treat their customers. They don't mind loosing customers over a lousy fee. I still want my $39 credited. This credit card company has poor customer service and should be taken to task over it.

I called captiol One last year in November to pay off the account, I was told they sold it to a collection agency, and was given information about same to call. I called Portfolio recovery and made a deal to pay off what I owed. I paid 835.88 on November 21,2014. I was told they would remove the same from my credit report, They have not , But when I received my crdit report it also showed Captiol One on it . I called and was told by Dario work number SRL095 he is a specialist for the company that they would not remove there name off my credit report, because i did not pay them I paid Portfolio Recovery. As I spoke with Dario and tried to explain to him that I had called their company first and wanted to pay them they told me it was sold to another company and they woulld not accept payment from me. This i sd that a company will sell your faniancal record to another company and yet still want to report you to the credit bureara, that you owe them. Once the bill is paid off that should be the end of it, But it is not so with Capitol One, they want to collect money for selling the claim and still have you pay it off, and keep it on your record saying that you did not pay them, even though you tried and they rejected payment. and gave it to another agency. this is just to unbeleiveable.

I received a bill from the IRS for a 1099-C that was issued by Capital One Bank. The debt was charged off in 2005, but the 1099-C issued was dated 2013.

The charge off is no longer on my credit report but I made a copy while it was still being reported so I have proof of the date of the actual charge off. Capital One reaged the debt.

Capital One Bank took their tax break in 2005 and now re-issued a 1099 for the same account which will result in another tax break. Not sure how to handle the IRS notification that they claim I owe.

I know 1099's must be issued the same year debt was forgiven.

Been a loyal customer for four years. Ive never been late on a payment on a mastercard and a visa from this company in the four years. I have made a phone call to them every sigle year asking them if they would lower my interest rate at 22%. Every year I get the same story .22% is all they can do. They are sticking there hands deep into my wallet and they arent about to remove it. Do not use this company for any reason. I used them to re-establish my credit and Im sick of being robbed.

CapitalOne voluntarily enrolled me e-bill and stopped sending paper statements. They did this without my permission and I didn’t receive the bill that I am use to getting. In addition, they never sent a letter confirming a change. Nor did they call to let me know I was late, which turned into a 30 day derogatory mark on my credit. My history shows that for every paper statement mailed, my bill was paid. I pay my bills on time and CapitalOne is ruining my credit.

This is a pattern and has happened twice in 2012 and 2014. When I called to complain CapitalOne issued an investigation and blamed it one me. And as a results my credit has been negatively affected.

They can't just do whatever they want to do. I can't be the only one this has happen to.

Sincerely,

[email protected]

I 'applied' for the Capital One secured credit card, because for my credit it was the way to go. I figured it was a safe and advantageous way to open a credit card and start getting my credit back on track. I thought it was weird that they have to run a credit check for a secured credit card, but Capital One had a good track record (I thought), and decided to go with it. Not only did they check my credit TWICE (two different days with 3 days in between) which doesnt help my credit at all, I was DENIED! Not sure how you can be denied for a secured credit card. My credit is not that horrible. It is a couple points shy of 600 (not great, I know), and was willing to deposit the money required to get it started. Really???? Not sure what type of company denies anyone for a secured credit card AND checks their credit record TWICE! Any websites I can find that I can tell my story to keep anyone else from making the same mistake, I will report them. You cant even email them unless you have an account open with them. They are very very not customer service friendly. You cant mail them either unless you have any account. You try to find the information on their website, and you cant find any type of contact for the 'home' office. Really??? Are they that paranoid?? Not only did my credit get dinged for TWO credit checks, I dont even get to rectify it with a credit card to pay on that would have been supplied with my own money. Its stupid and makes NO sense. I hope anyone reading this DOES NOT APPLY for their stupid 'Secured' credit card. It could make your credit worse!

I was called on my cellphon on 08/01/14 by a man who said his name was Oscar Alexander and he represented Capital One Bank as a Loan Officer.

He said he was returning my request for a loan, as I had sent out a request to this particular bank.

He said I was eligible for a $3,000.00 loan.

In order to start the process I had to pay $40.00. He told me to purchase a prepaid Visa (PayPower) card and load the money on it.

Then it was an insurance fee on the loan for $180.00

Then it was an IRS tax holding for $300.00

Then a closing fee for $240.00 which I refused to pay.

I demanded a contract E-mailed to me for authenticity of the transaction.

After 3 so-called failed attempts to my gmail account, he successfully sent it to my iphone.

The contract had the Capital One logo at the top, and an address in York, PA.

I looked up the address and discovered that it belonged to a First Capital Federal Credit Union.

I then headed straight to the Police Dept. and registered a case against the scammers.

They were stating that i never paid on this account when i can prove i did use online banking and printed the reports. they were charging me and my husband 18 to 20% interest rated. I called to speak to someone and then they said they would call me back and never did. Its on my credit. I know there needs to be justice.

IN THE YEAR OF 2013; I HAVE TAKEN NOTE OF SOME SUPICIOUS ACTIVITY ON MY CREDIT REPORT; SUCH AS CAPITAL ONE; CLAIMING THAT I OWE THEM FOR A CREDIT CARD THAT WAS ALLEDGELY OPENED IN MY NAME WITHOUT MY CONSENT; I SENT A CERTFIED LETTER WITH A SIGNATURE OF RECEIPT OF RETURN THAT THEY RECIEVED MY LETTER; TO CAPITAL ONE; REQUESTING A COPY OF ALLEDGED SIGNATURE ON FILE OF MY ALLEDGED SIGNATURE THAT WAS USED TO OPEN THIS ALLEDGED ACCOUNT IN MY NAME AND I SENT A COPY TO TRANSUNION AS WELL; INFORMING THEM THAT I DIDN'T OPEN THIS ACCOUNT WITH THE PROOF OF THE RETURNED SIGNED LETTER OF RECIEPT FROM THE POST OFFICE THAT THEY HAD AND HAVE RECIEVED IT.

NOW CAPITAL ONE HASN'T TO THIS DATE OF 07/09/2013 GIVEN ME ANY PROOF OF MY ALLEDGED SIGNATURE NOR A COMPLETE ACCOUNT NUMBER OF THE ALLEDGED ACCOUNT TO EVEN FIND; ALSO THEY SENT ME A LETTER STATING THAT THEY SOLD THIS UNAUTHORIZED OPENED ACCOUNT IN MY NAME TO SOMEONE ELSE BUT DIDN'T GIVE THE COMPANIES NAME OR ADDRESS IN THE LETTER. UNDER THE LAW - FOR THE POLICY CREDIT ACT; I HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW ALL I HAVE REQUESTED; AND JUST BECAUSE THEY SELL THE ACCOUNT TO SOMEONE ELSE DOESN'T LET THEM OFF THE HOOK FOR ILLEGALLY OPENING THIS ACCOUNT AND I HAD LIFE LOCK AT THAT TIME TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING . THEY HAVE SCREWED WITH MY CREDIT AND HAVE LOWERED MY CREDIT SCORE BY DOING THIS. AND I'M PIST!!!! IF THEY SOLD THIS ALLEDGED ACCONT TO ANOTHER COLLECTION AGENCY; THEY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE INFORMATION AND MY ALLEDGED SIGNATURE ON FILE AND INFO THAT OPENED THIS ACCOUNT ON DAY ONE. I DEMAND THE PROOF; I WILL NOT BE BUULIED INTO PAYING A DEBT THAT I DON'T OWE. HERE IS THE LAST ACCOUNT NUMBERS OF THE ALLEDGED DEBT; THIS IS ALL THEY GAVE ME- 6064

The rep on 01/16/14 told me they sent my card out 01/14/16 and they never sent the card out untill 01/21/14 according to the next rep and email. i have yet to get a card. I do not think they ever sent my card out period. They lie all the time and can not keep the story correct. Every new rep brings a new lie. I am approved with a card and was told nothing about a yearly fee. Now i am being told there is a yearly fee. When i applyed there was nothing said about this fee. This company is using slick ways to lie cheat and steal your money. when you file a complaint with the bbb.org they refuse to wave the fee or take any action to make this right. There response was ( do you want me to close the account?) like they do not care i never got the card. This company is a liar cheater and theaf. They lie cheat and steal. Do business with them at your own risk! You get apprroved for a loan and never get the loan. Who knows where they sent my card it is not in my mail box. I do not think they ever mailed one out. Next thing you know they will just bill me a $39 fee when i never got the card. I do not know what kind of crooked bank this is. I have never in my life seen a bank like this. I do not do business with liars.

I became unemployed and the choice had to be made, keep the mortage payment current or pay credit cards. Well I paid the mortgage. Tonight I found out that Capital One / Direct Merchants Bank charged off my account and turned it over to Cambece Debt Collections. The collector informed me that I owed $2700 dollars and I had two choices and only two choices. Pay the entire amount off right now or pay them $700 dollars up front and $350 dollars a month for the next 6 months. The collectors would not listen to reason and came off with a Gestapo attitude and did not give a s*** about anything. All they wanted was a fricking payment. They are true a*******.

I had a capital one credit card that had insurance on it for credit protection, when I fell behind in my payment instead of the representative activating the insurance she hung up and my wages were letter garnished because that representative did not provide good customer service and activate my insurance. Now they send my credit card offers a few times a year. THE NERVE!
