I personally have never bought a horse from this woman but I've had to correct many of her problems through the years. She is very dishonest in the way she represents horses. I had a lady bring a horse straight from Carolina Sport Horse to me to try out on my trails and see that the horse was everything she claimed - "dead broke" The horse jumped, reared twice with me and acted like it had never seen a creek in it's life. That makes "very expensive" horse #5 that she has not stood behind that I know of. It is one thing to be dishonest about your sales, but PLEASE quite bringing God into your business dealings. Giving a 30 day trial on a horse has never come back to haunt me and yes, I have had to return money on two occasions, only to go on and sell them another horse later on....actions speak louder than words - I know....I've been training and selling horses for 33 years and trust me when I say, no amount of money is worth distroying your reputation over or the precious name of Christ.

Horse Trader 101

Sadly, I know this women personally. She buys horses from sale barns for $200-$300 bucks, rides them two times and slaps a $15k price tag on them - she has been doing this for years.

Not that long ago she sold a DANGEROUS 1D barrel horse to a family with children and ended up getting the child hurt and a lawsuit on her door.

There have been so many lawsuits on her that she has changed her name to "I've Changed Horses" or some stupid BS like that.

She even made it a point to call my mother and father and tell them what bad parents they were because I cuss - I was 22 at the time.

Her facility is nasty and nothing but rocks. She comes to shows and runs the same horse three or four times - taking a video each time - and chops the bad parts out and makes all four runs one.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS HORRIBLE WOMEN! HEED MY WARNING!

I bought a horse from Angela Langston in 2013.

She professes to be a honest, Christian woman with integrity who sells healthy, sound horses. She says she specializes in fitting the right horse with the right rider/owner.

I bought the horse sight unseen, since I lived too many miles away to take him for a test ride.

Angela would answer questions, but never embellish.

That aroused suspicion.

The videos and photos she provided were out of date.

She put the horse in a pasture, and he atrophied. (When I inquired WHY he was still for sale several months later, she said the right owner hadn't been found for him yet. More likely, several people came to see him, and he was in such a sad state, no one wanted to take on ""project horse"".)

His feet were pitiful -- overgrown and had thrush.

When he arrived off the trailer (used her also supposedly Christian friend, who made the horse travel for 16 hours for 3 days straight -- supposed in the horse's best interest), he looked like he had spent time in a concentration camp.

He had ZERO muscle tone, and he was at least 150# underweight.

I bought him based on her guarantee of him being non-spooky, bombproof and a kid-friendly trail horse.

Well, no surprise, he IS spooky. He spun around on my trainer 50 feet from the arena and backed up quickly.

Thank goodness, he is capable in the english arena over small jumps, but during his first ride after I bought him, he stumbled so badly, he was limping. He couldn't hold himself up with the weight of an under 150# rider aboard.

On the one hand, I am happy I pulled this horse out from under Angela's non-care and am giving him the nutrition and care he deserves and needs

But I would NEVER recommend dealing with this woman, or her hauler friend Lone Start Transport. They both profess Christianity, but they are deceptive, dishonest, and have a horrible business model.

I feel sorry for anyone who has gotten a horse from her who has lameness issues, or the horse's skills or personality are not what she claimed. I believe my horse is sound (I had a pre-purchase vet check done on him -- and the vet said he was sweet, but not in good physical shape), but his hooves were severely bruised, leading me to believe they pulled him out of the pasture in an unfit condition, made videos, and hurt him in the process.

I have had to spend many hundreds of dollars in nutritional supplements and extra training to get this horse to a level of fitness where he isn't stumbling and at a reasonable weight. It will take several more months to improve his strength and muscle tone.

Unless you want to rescue a horse, I would AVOID dealing with Angela Langston, Langston Farms or Carolina Sport Horses if she's had them under her pitiful care for more than a week.

fungus anyone?

I just bought a horse from Angela. He was VERY under weight and had ringworm. She did give me $200 towards Vet. How he got all the way to California with that health cert without anyone noticing his highly contagious disease beats me. He was so skinny. He was though the sweetest thing ever and I am so glad I got him. But one month of TLC before I even thought of sitting on him. So far so good but the God stuff bugs me. The hauler also a bible thumper who got to California in 5 days . He did send photos and kept me apprised of the situation. I love the horse but it was sad how he looked. He also had a runny nose and the vet wormed him right away.

Follow-up

I am following up to the May 2014 post. I have now poured THOUSANDS of dollars into this horse trying to get him healthy and out of pain. He has inflammation in both front hooves, requiring anti-inflammatory injections in his coffin joint and bursas. The vet fears he might have a soft tissue injury, but we're hoping for the best and putting him on anti-inflammatory meds. In addition to the highest quality and quantity of nutritional supplements I can afford, I am giving him EquiThrive, and a CALMING supplement, since he is not the beginner-friendly horse he was purported to be.

He has gotten chiropractic adjustments, Acuscope treatments and good shoeing to align his axis back to where they should be. He's finally at a healthy weight and has built up considerable muscle. BUT ... thus far, I've had the joy of dealing with:

Consistent spooking

Play bucking

Kicking out

Spinning

Tripping

Stumbling

Crow hopping

Oh, and did I mention SPOOKING in an arena he has been in almost 150 times?

I am trying to work through this, but this horse does NOT have the personality or extreme level of calmness Angela attested to.

I so wish I had ordered a drug test on him prior to the purchase.
