Carplex Auto Group Inc Reviews

  • Jul 31, 2014

When I arrived at the dealership I instantly noticed the vehicle they were advertising on their website was not the same vehicle. I asked to test drive the vehicle where I noticed the interior of the vehicle also did not match photos they advertised online. Upon returning from the test drive I asked the dealer if I could see the carfax for the vehicle, twice! He proceeding to ignore both requests and give me more info about the car from his own words.

He later asked me if I was interested in buying the vehicle that day. I explained to him that even if I wanted to, my bank is closed so there's no way I could. Due to their dealership being closed on Sundays, he advised me that they would take a $200 deposit (NOT A DOWN PAYMENT) to hold the vehicle until Monday until my bank opens back up. If I wanted to buy the vehicle I can return with the rest of the payment. Later that evening I purchased the $58.51 carfax as shown on my account transaction since he wouldn’t disclose any of the vehicle history with me. That’s when I found several issues with the vehicle that revealed the maintenance and upkeep for this vehicle will be expensive, so I decided not to purchase the vehicle.

When I returned back on Monday 07/28/2014, I explained to him that I will not be purchasing the vehicle due to the issues I found on the carfax. He then proceeded to show me the carfax in office, the same carfax I asked to view twice the previous Saturday, to explain to me the upkeep wouldn’t be that expensive. I reiterated to him I’m no longer interested and I will need my $200 deposit back. He stated that all deposits are non-refundable. This information was withheld from me when I put the deposit down. For the transaction all I did was provide him my credit card, he swiped it, and printed two pages of receipts. None of the paperwork being an actual contract I had to sign stating I now own the vehicle, nor did I have to sign the receipts.

This transactions along with the business ethics practiced by Carplex Auto Group are erroneous. The agreement was that the vehicle will be held until Monday, not that I was going to purchase the vehicle. The vehicle was held, I did not purchase the vehicle, therefore my $200 DEPOSIT, not down payment, needs to be refunded back to me in it’s entirety.
