Chicago Steam Basketball Reviews

Chicago Steam CEO Ron Hicks promise me a basketball oppurtunity if I sign to his team this fall. He did his part as of informing me about the events going on with the team in the beginning. Once I move to Chicago he kept emailing me about the team fees & a passport fee. I told him that I just recently move to Chicago and needed to find a job in order to pay the fees. All of a sudden he email me telling me two days before that the steam is holding tryouts and it's fee was $100. We been emailing for over a month and half now & he didn't tell me that I had to tryout. So I felt this was so a late notice and when I told him that he needs to do better on informing me he caught a attitude. I didn't go to the tryout that morning then he email me 1 day later saying they would be holding tryouts again. Once I made the team he wanted me to sign instantly but let me remind you I do not have a job. When I told him in would have problems on paying the fee he insisted that I pay half now and half next month. So my sister gave me half of the fee and I paid Mr Hicks $200. And I ask him was there anything coming for the team as of pre season or pictures he said no just come up with the other half. Let me remind you this was at the end of June! Once July 1st came he email me July 3rd saying that he got a job For me in Sweden but I must have all my fees in first. Told him that I'll be paying the passport fee which is $110 with the help of my church but he insisted I give him $175 for it overnight. Me asking questions about everything he felt offended because I wanted to know what I was getting myself into. Late that week on July 4th he email saying that ( all fees must be turn in by the 11th). Such a late notice like before and when I ask him why he haven't relate this to me earlier he said it's not his rules, it's the ABA league rules. When I told him I won't have all the fees in he told me that I would drop from the team without a refund.

Hello I was sign to play with the Aba this year with the Chicago steam. I signed the contract and in the contract it stated I have to pay team fees which was 385 and housing which was 750. I spoke several times with the owner Ron hicks about my arrival. The steam ended up having to many players so I never left to go. Upon asking for my refund the took over a month to send a check.. To make matters worst they sent a bad check that Had NFS. I contacted Ron hicks and demand cash or a bank transfer. He agreed and never sent a bank transfer but send me a tracking number saying he mailed another check. Again this check was bad saying that it is a closed account. In total I receive 3 bad checks. They owe me a total of 1215. 1170$ for the team fees and housing 45$ that my bank charged me for bounced checks. Attached is a picture of 2 of the bad checks and the reason why it is bad.
