Core Carrier Corporation Reviews

  • May 16, 2015

Core is truely a piece of crap trucking company. I am a former employee (1 week driving for them). When you first start out they give you a 90 day promisary note you have to sign that says, if you do not spend 90 days with them then you owe them for every dime they have spent on you i.e. phtsical, lunch, starting pay. You do NOT get a copy of this!

The 1st day is mostly paper work and them trying to sell you insurance from some old man who looked like he was about 1/2 dead. They provide you with a menu from a local restraunt (which I happen to like) and you can order lunch. Then it is more people telling you how the company works.

The 2nd day you get to meet your DM. Mine was Sally. She couldn't put her d**n phone down long enough to carry on a conversation. She said her daughter was having a melt down. BFD!!! When you get done with the 2nd, if you have esxp like I do, you get $300 for orientation and the keys to your truck. Mine was a 2007 I9000. It had 948,000+ miles and a plastic bag covering the seat. Their lot was one big mud hole. No matter where you stepped you are walking aroung ot thru a mud puddle.

My 1st day driving got even better. I made it to the shipper and about 45 miles outside of town before I stopped at the scales. I tried every trick in the book to get my tandems to slide with no luck. Finally I gave up and called my DM. She told me to call Sharkey. She also told me I could NOT scale my load there because they use a Quik Trio about a mile down the road from the shipper. So I called them and was told I could go to the shop at this truckstop and see if they could help me.

The guy in the shop tried everything he could think of. He even got up under the trailer to see if he could figure out what was going on. He finally gave up and then told me the trailer had bad brakes on it. So I proceeded to call my DM and tell her I was going to bring the truck back and get the trailer fixed.

On Friday (day 4) I finally got things squared away and headed out. As I was headed East on I-70 out of KC I was pulled into the scale for a weigh in. No problem as I knew I was good to go. Got to my reciever and headed to get my back haul. I didn't know or didn't realize it was at a drop lot which took longer than I expected as I had no clue where I was going. Well I finally got back on the road and found a work-aroung for the scale in Wentzville, MO. Then I stopped at the next truck stop going west to scale my load. When I got to the w/b scale in Odessa, Mo I was pulled in again. Twice in 1 day? In the same state? Got out of there with no problem and headed home.

Didn't work Monday as my wife is in bad health and had a dr's appt.

Went in Tuesday and got a load off the yard going back to St. Louis. No problem. Went to get it scaled and it was heavy on the a*s end. Got that fixed and headed out.

Every time I go across the bridge between Boonville and Colombia, MO. this truck would bounce me from here to hell and back. It was a piece of S*!!!!!!

Didn't work Wednesday and went back in Thurday and quit. I told them I do not feel safe in their trucks!

The one I had, #1794 leaks on the inside of the windshield and had a rock chip in it! They also tell you they are going to hold back your check for 3 weeks!!! I can understand not getting paid on Friday of 1st week if you didn't work but, you should have been paid the following Friday. Core does not work that way.

They are a real piece of s* company!!! DO NOT GET SUCKERED IN LIKE I DID!!!!

P.S. They give you a fuel card but, you can't use it for scaleing your loads. You pay for that and pray you get your money back! I wont!
