return hunter

i have been hunting hogs in Anson county county now for 4 years, i used other outfitters before. and when i came across Creekside Hunting Adventures i booked a hunt for my son and i. Todd and Phil showed us how the hogs operated in the area, and were very accommodating to teach brand new hog hunters the ins- and outs on the hunting of the hogs. our first hunt out we did not see or hear a single hog, the afternoon hunt came and Phil had told us that the area we are in is freshly baited and the hogs will be coming in to feed. He did state to my son and I. Whatever you do, do not get out of your stand until you cant see in front of your face. the time ticked on, as daylight faded my son and i had just enough light to see through our scopes, and there they were .we heard these hogs coming and squealing amongst each other before we knew it ther were 6 to 8 hogs dominating the feeder where they found a well baited pile to fight over 2 very nice sows presented a shot for both my son and myself. needless to say hogs down! back at the camp Todd was waiting for us at the cleaning shed with a nice fire and some food for us to eat when we got back. Phil And Todd made the expierence one to remember. i have hunted more than 10 times with these guys and we are 7 hogs out of 10 hunts !! this is fair chase hunting. i have been hunting with them ever since and i have an annual family hunt every year for 11 people to hunt and every year we have had the most respectful and hospitable service from all of the staff at creekside hunting adventures. We are ready for our 2016 round up!!!! and we will drop hogs!!

Great Family Fun!

This is the second year in a row that we hunted with Phil and his group. I took my 11 year old son last year and my 15 year old daughter this year (January 16, 2015). On both occasions we were brought out to our stand location and we settled in for an evening hunt. Last year, with about an hour of daylight left, my son and I heard the hogs coming through the thicket to our location and they were coming fast. We barely had enough time to get ready before a group of 7 were competing with each other for the corn at the feeder. My son was blown away with the sounds and the action of it all. Most of the hogs were dark in color except one which was black and white and that's the one he wanted to try to get. Once the hogs settled down a bit my son was able to get the crosshairs on his hog and put it on the ground.

This year my daughter and I went and my nephew Kyle came as well. Kyle had never hog hunted before. My daughter and I were in one stand together and Kyle was taken to the "Tripod" stand. We were all expecting to sit for a few hours that evening but at 3:45 my daughter spotted a hog from here side of the stand. Soon there were nine hogs pushing and shoving each other all around the feeder. Like my son had the year before, she picked out one by color that she wanted to take but when it didn't present her an opportunity fast enough she decided she was going to take the first one that stood still long enough to make a good shot on. She seconds later she made a perfect 90 yard shot and dropped her first hog that she named "Walter". She was extremely excited!!! We still had a lot of time left before we would be picked up so we just sat back and relaxed for a beautiful evening sit. It was about an hour later when we heard Kyle's shot. He saw a total of 20 hogs and was able to shoot a beautiful large jet black one. He was also very excited about the hunt. As my daughter and I continued to sit in the stand we began to hear more hogs in the thicket in front of us. Soon it was obvious that there were several hogs coming and my daughter could hardly contain her excitement when the pigs became vocal. I have no idea how many were in the group but the commotion was unbelievable! They may have winded us, I'm not sure, but as they started to enter an opening near the feeder they suddenly turned and started running back into the thicket. Again they became very vocal and it seemed more like they were fighting with each other rather than running from us. They stayed out in the thicket in front of us making all sorts of noises for a long time all of which made the hunt that much more exciting. My daughter was beside herself and couldn't have had a better time.

Once we were picked up from our stands by Phil and his staff we were brought back to the house where they have a really nice facility for skinning and processing the hogs. My nephew and my daugher and I had a great time hanging out by the campfire with our close friends while Phil and his guys took care of everything else. It was another unforgettable time!

I highly recommend this hunt. It's inexpensive, convenient, and family friendly. Like any fair chase hunt there are no guarantees on success but we have had very good luck on our hunts there and there are certainly plenty of hogs in the area.

We will be definitely hunting with Creekside Hunting Adventures again.

On Jan 1, 2015, I, Marcus traveled from Charlotte along with another hunter who was only 45 minutes from Polkton were greeted outside of a dark residence and taken to two different tree stands for what was supposed to be a Hog/Deer hunt and a regular Hog hunt. It was very cold that morning, and Phil was reeking of alcohol. He is one of the owners who stated that he has seen several 10 point bucks, and 6 point bucks running around the premises. Now to an unsuspecting customer, you would think that these guys have their own premises, but this is not so. They have a few acres that they lease from people who own land in the area, however, Phil told me that they had over 4,000 acres of hunting land. Huge Lie!!! My hunting stand was just feet from a major highway. While on the way to the hunting stands, Phil repeatedly pointed out areas that appeared to have had the dirt disturbed and he stated that hogs were just here. I think I saw one track, but I could not tell if it was one deer or hog track. I listened and watched as he pointed out different areas where he said the hogs are on the move. He would then say, let's hurry and get you in our best Tripod Stand! He assured me that his property had plenty of hogs and deer. He said I was allowed to shoot one hog and one deer at this time. He left me in the stand from about 6:45 am to 10:30 am. Within that time, I did not see any animals whatsover, I did see a few birds. He came to get me with another fellow scammer, who I believe was named Greg. They stated that they were waiting for my call to alert them that I had shot a Buck or a Boar! I told them that I had not seen or heard anything. So we go after the other hunter, Lester, who also stated that he did not see or hear anything as well. They saw feeder knocked over and they stated that the hogs were feeding so good, that they knocked over the feeder. That pointed out to all of the fresh tracks, but the tracks looked very old to me because ice was everywhere, and the ice was not disturbed. This is when my suspicion began to grow. As we walked back to the their truck that they used, they took the another trail where it looked like overturned dirt, and they assured us again that the hogs had been there this morning. Most outfitters have the lunch meal added in to the hunt, but these clowns took us to gas station and told us they had great food. I had a biscuit, where these guys had chicken tenders. Mind you, they never offered to pay for our food. Great hospitality Phil and phonies!!! They offered shooting at the back of their house to make sure our guns were scoped in properly, then back off to the stands. They took us on another nature trail to the stands, and repeatedly pointed to other bait stands, where they said there was corn on the ground earlier, but none was there now. Question? How could they see corn on the ground in the dark? Yeah, right! So at this point, they said that the hogs were just here pointing to some tracks that looked old, but they assured that they were fresh. They said let's hurry up back to your stands. They said you boys will have hogs by this afternoon. Phil told me that I could harvest two hogs if I wanted plus a deer of any sex. He stated that there are plenty of animals on the property, but with the frost melted now, I saw no fresh tracks. We got back in the stands to hours and hours of waiting, but no sign of any animals. Mind you, I hear gun shots all around us from morning until afternoon. The duck hunters appeared to be having more hunts than we did. I even heard rabbit dogs in the distance and they came really close to where I was. I was hoping they might scare something my way, but it was the same old boring silence with an occassional chirping of the birds. I have never in my life been anywhere and not seen anything outside of a few birds. They might have a few hogs in this neighborhood as evidence to a neighbor we met at the gas station where we had lunch at who stated that a hog was in his yard last night because of the mud left on his drive way. Folks, the bottom line is this, this outfitter was talking about leasing more land, but if you even look on the website, they have outdated pictures from 2012. Where are the recent updated time stamped pictures? Hhmmm? No animals perhaps? Did you hunt the animals out of the property? I don't know, but you did not provide your customer with a hunt and an opportunity to at least take a shot at a fawn or even a piglet let along Buck or Boar! The scammers came to retrieve me from my stand at about a litte after 6pm. They said that they were up the road just waiting on me to take a shot. I told them that I did not see one animal of any kind, not even a squirrel. They then told me that they were shocked that I didn't shoot an animal. It was a long ride back to Charlotte. When I got home, I completed my satifaction with the hunt with the sad face and I wrote that there were no bucks or hogs. Phil responded by saying they were sorry that I did not see anything, but that is why it is called a hunt and not a kill. He then texted me a non time or dated picture and said that he went to the stand I was at shot a 300 lb. boar just a few minutes ago. LOL, Phil, you can have that lie along with your scam, but you have just been put on blast!!! Folks, don't waste your time with these fakers!!! Check the review from these scumbags, they have had disappointed hunters since 2010. I just wished I had did my homework, before I booked this hunt as I was overly eager to shoot my brand new Bushmaster that I received for Christmas. What a big lesson learned. Always do a review before you book a hunt. Unfortunately, I will never do another pad hunt again. I will hunt my own property where I always at least see animals, even if they may not be big enough to shoot at. Phil, what a low down, low life you are to be taking advantage of unsuspecting hunters. Yes, it was my first hog hunt and my first and last experience at a hunting lodge! Thanks for the patriotism you bums!!!
