Cutter Law Firm Reviews

  • May 5, 2015

I met Nadine Cutter with my business partner to discuss her handling my collections for my small business. We had a consultation

together at her office and it was mostly her talking about herself and how proud she is of all her positive reviews online and how she is

friendly with judges and politicians and has parties at her house for them. The meeting was not really of a business context more of her

bragging about herself. She stated that she did not have any experience with the types of collections that we needed but she seemed eager to get

the business and said that she wanted to work for us so we thought we would give her try. She demanded a $5000 retainer in the form of a

Cashier’s check, she would not accept a business check which was kind of a Hassle. I had to drive all the way across town to get a Cashier’s check

from my bank and then drive 40 minutes back to drop it off at her office. Not really convenient. I think as a professional when you're

doing business with a company you should gladly accept a business check it's not that big of a deal. Obviously I'm not going to bounce the check

when I'm hiring her for something that I need. I thought $5000 was fairly high for doing four Justice Court filings. Each filing costs no

more than $150. I gave her four files that needed to be filed in court of customers that owed my company money. When she cashed our

Retainer check, our communication stopped, she did not answer emails or return phone calls. It was a constant cycle of calling her office and

being told by her assistant, Will, that she's in court all day or not available. Many of the times he would put me on hold for several

minutes and then come back and say she's not available which is obviously a case where she was there but just didn't want to get on the

phone. After about a month of trying to get her to communicate with me all I got was a "I'm working on your stuff" I know she wasn't working on

anything because she would've had a list of questions that she would've asked me there about 12 questions that a business owner like myself has

to answer before one of my customers is sent to small claims court for filing. I started to get a bad feeling with her non-responsiveness and

emailed her to let her know that we were not going to use her and to send the retainer back. She whined and complained and said that she

really wanted the business and was really disappointed and we told her that we have found someone else. Seems a strange way to be if you want

someone's business you should communicate with them and start working on their cases instead of taking a month to tell us that she was "working

on stuff". It was almost two months until we finally got the retainer back. We had to basically harass her assistant to send us the retainer back.

They kept telling us that they had sent it but nothing ever showed up in the mail. Approximately 45 days after we requested the retainer back her

assistant asked me where to send the check, so it's obvious that they never sent it out. Having to harass someone to get money back is really

frustrating and time-consuming. A professional would return the funds within seven business days which is a reasonable time frame. We of

course we're expecting a cashiers check just like she expected from us but surprise surprise it was her business check that now had to have a

10 business day hold on it with our bank. Not only was it her business Check, but there was $500 missing out of the check, we called her and

inquired about why the retainer was missing $500 and she stated that it was for files and labels and bookkeeping and administrative costs. She

refused to give an accounting of what the $500 was for and said that it was internal information. She then stated that because there was four

files she could've charged us $250 per file totaling $1000 but she was being nice and only took $500 because she liked us. I asked her for an

accounting of the $500 and she basically just ignored me and said I couldn't have that information. This attorney stole $500 from us and

pretended like she was doing us a favor by not taking more. Not sure what justified "book keeping" costs when she never filed one of the four

cases we gave her. This attorney is not only full of herself and conceited but she is unethical with her behavior and a thief. Bypass

this one and find someone else!
