CVS, STOP WASTING OUR TIME WITH UNUSABLE COUPONS! CVS's best coupons require that the customer go to the store to print them at a dedicated coupon-printing device, but THE STORE COUPON PRINTERS SELDOM WORK, REMOVING THE OFFER FROM THE CUSTOMER'S EXTRACARE ACCOUNT WITHOUT PRINTING A COUPON. Thus, again (after many similar problems), I took the time to go to my local CVS and scan my ExtraCare card to print a coupon but LOST THE DISCOUNT PROMISED IN THE E-MAIL THAT INSISTED THE COUPON COULD ONLY BE PRINTED AT THE STORE.

From my own experience and an informal poll of friends and family, THIS IS THE USUAL OUTCOME. The error message on the coupon machine was generic. I found out that the coupons can be printed at the cash register, but they become unavalable after scanning the ExtraCare card at a non-printing coupon machine.

By the way, CVS's coupons can't be used for an additional discount on sale items, so they aren't that great anyway. The prices are high, and I only shop there for their buy-one-get-one free vitamins (which are excluded from coupon discounts) or when I need medical supplies and don't have time to shop elsewhere (as in this case, with my husband coming home from the hospital). Normally, I just pick up prescriptions and leave. Even so, between prescriptions and the type of shopping listed above, I and my family have dropped several thousands of dollars per year in CVS's coffers.

The store manager couldn't help (although he gave me a $2 coupon which he said was "more than 30%" -- don't they require that store managers understand basic math?). When I returned to my office, I called CVS ExtraCare customer service at 800-746-7287, where I had to escalate to a supervisor to get actual help. After a lengthy wait and much repetition, the supervisor finally put the offer back on my account, except that THE COUPON WON'T BE AVAILABLE FOR 48 HOURS AND STILL MUST BE PRINTED AT THE STORE. I am extremely busy with family in the hospital and a crushing workload; I asked the supervisor to e-mail a coupon that I could print at home, but he said "the system" wouldn't allow that. I had planned to spend the next day's lunch hour picking up over $100 worth of supplies and prescriptions at CVS to be ready for my husband's hospital discharge. 48 hours later will be too late for me.

This is elementary programming: Allow customer-supervisors to over-ride the 48-hour wait time and build in an error-check that leaves the offer on the customer's account if the coupon doesn't print successfully. I would customize the error message to say that the the cashier can print the coupon at the register. I shared this with the CVS supervisor. He seemed amazed that I: a) couldn't wait 48 hours for a coupon that was supposed to have been available for several days; b) anyone would complain about repeated inability to get or use coupons that were promised in writing; and c) that a programmer could include error-checking for the coupon printers.

Now I see why I am the only person among my friends and family who still patronizes CVS. We count on our CVS pharmacist, who is competent and dedicated. Unfortunately for me (and CVS), the idiots who put together the marketing strategy requiring that coupons be printed on unreliable store machines didn't folow through to make sure the printing process actually works (or at least doesn't prevent the customer using the promised coupon by printing at the register). Instead, they are driving customers away by breaking promises, wasting customers' time, and looking generally inept. Not qualities that I want associated with a company that handles my family's presription rmedication.

CVS's ridiculous requirement that customers use the store's flimsy coupon printers is putting the company at risk of legal action. I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau and the FTC: bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started (might have to set your location for BBB complaints) and https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov

Here is some free advice to all retailers from a long-time sales professional: Concentrate on competitive pricing and high-quality customer service instead of unworkable and irritating promotions that eat customers' time and make them angry. If you can't control the outcome for the customer, don't adopt the promotion.

I've spent hours that I will never get back trying to use CVS coupons and to warn other busy people about CVS's silly promitions, but I want them held accountable in public for making false promises and repeatedly wasting my time.

My bad: I should have learned from my experiences long ago and moved our prescriptions to a different pharmacy located in a competently managed retail store.

I Am Angry And Shocked At The Very Bad Service I Received Today!

My Doctor Moy who is one of the most Famous Dermatologists in Beverly Hills had one of his staff members electronically email over my prescription for a bottle of special shampoo for

Tinea Versicolor earlier on today and I waited for almost two (2) hours before going over there to pick it up.

When I had arrived to supposedly pick it up which was at approximately 2:00 P.M. in the afternoon, the pharmacy technician asked me for my first and last name which is Howard Shore in which I had to spell at least twice because he could Not spell it which was fine and give him my date of birth, however, after providing my information, he claimed that my basic contact information for all pharmacy medications was Not in the system and in addition, he had NO record of being able to find the prescription that was sent over from my doctor's office earlier today which was at around 12:00 P.

M. Noon!

I was Very Angry, Upset and Offended because I have been their Customer For Almost 10 Years and Never Had Problems In Picking Up Medications In The Past.

I then asked to speak with his Lead Pharmacy Manager and that was a disaster too because she asked for the exact, same information and then told me that my information was NOT in the system and that she also did Not receive my Electronically Mailed In Prescription!

Obviously Somebody Is Lying!

I was so Angry and Disgusted that I decided to contact their Customer Relations Phone Number at: 401-765-1500 (from Outside The Store) and I was on the phone for at least One Full Unproductive Hour with somebody by the name of Wolk and he did NOT do very much for me and so then I spoke with his manager, Lisa.

I must have been on the phone for at least ONE whole bloody hour and during the conversation I found out from the both of them that the REASON of Why my Contact Information could NOT be Found In The System by their Pharmacists was because somebody from their company Purposely and Deliberately entered my Date Of Birth Incorrectly by having the Month Of June Show Up, Instead Of My Birth Month Of February Causing All Of My Information to NOT Show Up!

Can You Believe This and This Is What You Call CVS Professionals???

CVS had a circular in the Sunday newspaper on May 31. The 'weekly deal' in the ad said Colgate toothpaste $3.00 you pay with card, minus $2 instant coupon, -$1 mfg coupon in Sunday paper = FREE. The run this same promotion every few weeks. And every time the actual coupon in the newspaper says $1 of the purchase of TWO. So they refuse to take the coupon. It happened again today, June 4.

The first time it happened I figured they just didn't know what the coupon would be. But since it has now happened about least 5 times, I believe it is a deliberate ploy to lure people into the store for a deal they know will not be honored.

Stores should not be able to get away with repeated false, misleading, deceptive advertising. I tried to attach a copy of the ad, but your system would not accept the file. I will keep it.

A company called www.cvspharmacystore.com (they go by other names as well) sold me 100 pills of tramadol for $400 for overnight delivery. The next day (day of delivery) they called me to tell me that they didn't have the 100 pill bottle and that they had to send me a 200 pill bottle......for an extra 275. I told them no and asked to have my money refunded. The refused. They just stole $400 from me.

I said what do you mean you filled them last month and the month before that.He say's well yeah I know but I WANT TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT YOUR PAIN REGIMENT. Now their was nothing wrong with my prescription if he's not a doctor why would i have to tell him my condition and why would he question what my doctor is doing with me. I politely took my prescriptions and left the store.I think Christan went to far not only was I in pain I felt discriminated aganist.

My endodontist called in a script for doxicylene to our local CVS for oral surgery the next day. My wife picked it up and paid for it. She gets most of her meds there. The charge for the doxicylene was $90 for 20 capsules(with a discount card). I called back to complain about the price. I buy most of my drigs through the VA but time constraints precluded using the VA this time. I was told that "unfortunately CVS charges more for doxicylene than all of the other pharmacies".The price at other pharmacies averaged around $30., so CVS is 3 times more expensive than the rest.

My wife is a corporate business manager of a large Internal Medical practice and thought the price way out of line but did not contest at the time. I am sure going forward she will certainly steer her staff to advise patients of this price gouging on doxicylene. I will never purchase as much as bandaid from CVS again and my wife most likely will do the same.

It seems to be common knowledge among their pharmacy staff that the price CVS charges for doxicylene is way out of line. Makes me wonder what corporate moron could possibly think this to be a good policy. Apparently he/she or they have not considered the old retail marketing addage the someone happy with a product will tell 10 others while someone unhappy will tell 50. With the leverage of the Internet it is more like a million.

Just wanted to provide this information so that another unsuspecting customer doesn't fall victim to this unfair practice.

I do not have health insurance, and I have been sick the past few days. I was taking Allegra and Advil, and it hasn't helped. I've had a fever (of about 100), sinus pressure, pressure in the ears, sore throat, swollen & tender glands, headache, etc. So I decided to go to a CVS Minute Clinic, because I heard it was only $80 and they could prescribe antibiotics. What a total waste of my time and money.

I didn't have to wait long, that is the only good thing I can say. I find out right off the bat that it is $100 instead of $80, since I am new, not including any tests. Then she wants to do a strep test. I used to get strep all the time, and it doesn't really feel like strep to me, but fine. She did a quick strep test, which came back negative. I thought it might be a sinus infection, because I have had a lot of sinus infections in the past. But no, she immediately said it is probably just a common cold and to keep taking what I was already taking. Then she said, "or it could be a false negative on the strep, we could send it out to a lab" (which of course is more money).

I just wanted an antibiotic. I very rarely take antibiotics, it has been well over a year since I have. But she says that if it is a common cold, that it won't do any good, and we don't want to create resistance. Yes, I understand that, but you are also saying there is a chance it is something that you WOULD prescribe an antibiotic for. And since I so rarely take antibiotics, I am not concerned about resistance, I would like to cover my bases since what I've been using ISN"T WORKING.

But no, she wouldn't prescribe me one, even though I expressed all of that. I paid $129 for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. To be told to keep taking the over the counter things I am already taking that aren't working.

This is a total rip-off, waste of time. I am so angry right now, It just makes me never want to go to CVS in general. But whatever you do, don't get ripped off by these "medical clinics" that take your money and give you absolutely nothing.

Went to the local CVS with a prescription for forty 500 MG Capsules of Cephalexin. I was quoted $26. Believing this price to be excessive, I took the prescription to Publix Supermarket in the same shopping center where I had it filled for $5.95.

You can be assured that I will never have another prescription filled at CVS.

This has been an ongoing problem for several years. Their store is always understaffed. Wait times to pick up a prescription are lengthey. On two seperate occasions, my wife was shorted on her prescriptions. This past friday, I took three prescriptions in from my dentitst. I checked their hours on their website today. It said that they were open from 7 - 10. I went at 9:00 and the pharmacy was not open until 10:00. The webssite did not say this. Only the store was open. When I returned later, I was told that I did not have a prescription for Percoset. All three prescriptions were submitted at the same time. I was told that they would look into it and call me. That means a third trip there to get my medicine. I suspect that someone has filled the prescription and kept it for themself. They also wanted my updated address and phone number. My ID should be sufficient. I was not going to get my prescriptions unless I gave them all of my personal information. Once they have your phone number, you get unwanted reminder and advertising calls. If you want it stopped, you are told to call a corporate number and jump through a lengthy set of hoops. Percoset is a narcotic, which is why my dentist only prescribes a small quantity of them to his patients. I am now stuck with no pain medicine, and no script to take to another pharmacy.

As a buyer of Candy at the local CVS i noticed that the larger the package purchased, the higher the unit cost per ounce.

In other words a small package M+M's Peanuts cost 34 cts per ounce, medium sized 39 cts per ounce, and giant size 38 cts per ounce.

When questioned on 1-800-SHOP-CVS, the representative said this was "proprietary company information." I call it pulling a fast-one on the comsumer! Beware at CVS policy...is this the way unit pricing alerts are supposed to work? Do they do this throughout the store? Shop CVS carefully.

Take a real good look at the charges on your bill even though they have been one price for years.

The pharmacy charged $50 more than they have for years for one prescription and not really paying attention to the total untill my wife saw the reciept. I returned two hours after the purchase with the unopen bag with info sheet still stapled to it to be told they couldn't refund the difference or take care of the situation in any way.

we've been long time customers for years and i get 14 prescriptions every month. we are moving our business elswhere.

We are being profiled at this CVS Pharmacy making us wait long periods of time. Our medication is never ready on time and this one employee is black and the pharamist happens to be black, and they are profiling us and treating us like 3rd class citizens. I'm getting pretty fed up with the disrespect they are giving us.

We have given them no reason for them to treat us like this. We have been friendly each visit even when they made us wait for long periods of time. If like they don't want us to be they're customer and this is they're way of showing it. I'm fighting for my consumer rights and we will be coming back each time!. So they can go to hell!.
