Yesterday I ordered a Inspirion desktop 3000 series (Inspirion 3847 as it turns out) with a 'Free 32 inch TV' deal attached to it. I looked at other computers not attached to any deal, and didnt see or was blocked from (no idea why I wouldnt have seen it) a similar computer for a cheaper price, so I figured why not get a free TV right? So I put it in my cart and began the checkout proccess. It had the price of the unit, a TV price and a discount for the TV (in two seperate discounts. $200 and $79.).

In the Cart I noticed shipping was 3-5 days.... I was placing my order early on a thursday. Seen an option of Next Day shipping for $50 and 2 day for $30. They also had a rewards or advantage program or something, free signup and you would get free 2 day shipping. So I signed up for that in hopes that I might get it by Saturday (longshot I knew, but eh tried it). Turns out that shipping is different then it would seem. It did not mean I would get the computer by the weekend or even on monday. Aparently I will get the TV on Monday, but as of the time I write this, my computer is still 'In Production' with an estimated delivery date of August 3rd (7 business days and 11 real days after I ordered it).

Anyway, back to the main point. I was looking at Dell.com and noticed the same computer for $200 less. Turns out the TV isnt really free, they just jack up the price of the computer to offset the cost. Its just a lame marketing ploy to get you to buy a TV you probably dont need.

I am writting this in hopes of helping other people avoid something I probably could have easily avoided if I done just a bit more research.

I purchased a brand new dell lap top computer on 12-17-2013 from local wal mart store ,=the computer never left the home. after a month i had problems with it. ccalled walmart was told i should have brought it back sooner i only used it maybe ten times because of my health condition. i am a disabled veteren life long member dav. dell india told me walmart was responable. this was to much stress for me. finally after from my someone local called dell india they agreed toast help me. i pleaded with them please take the computer back his manager would not allow it .after about seven hours and not being able to get inside my machine i told i was a poor disabled veteran and i had to get to bed i about one time a month for next 12 months. the last time was able to get into my computer and got it to work i got about ten days of use and again it did not work.

I just purchased my new Dell a month ago. I was having an issue with turning off the touchpad. I called Dell. They said, "Your computer does not include a software warranty. In order to help you, you need to pay $89 for a software warranty.". Fry's Electronics claims they carry the same warranty as HP. But when I had an issue with my HP - even a year after purchase, they were happy to look into it. So, Dell is basically trying to rip people off for $89 when they have any issues with a new product.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRODUCT QUALITY I HAVE EVER HAD PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A DELL.

I bought a new dell laptop from my schools bookstore not even 4 months ago and the thing never even worked. Usually when you pay over $700 for something it should work more than a few weeks or a couple months. Within the first couple weeks of purchasing the laptop the whole computer shut down. After call dell and being transfered to ten different people they finally agreed to send a tech out and replace the defaulty motherboard they sold me. Now I've had the computer for about 4 months, went to use the HDMI port for the first time and no big surpise it dosn't work. Called dell got transfered to several different departments just to be told I need to purchase a $230 warranty for them to acess my computer and turn on something for the port to work. If a company sells a product with it saying it comes with certain features should they work when you buy the product? Then I told them I don't even want the computer if it already had everything wrong with it not even beening 4 months old and having a year warranty. They tell me that it would have had to been replaced within the first month of having it. Don't you think they could've told me that when it was not even a few weeks old and the motherboard crashed. I'm going to try and convince my school to stop selling these products in there bookstores before more students get ripped off. WORST COMPUTER AND CUSTOMER CARE EVER WISH I WOULD'VE KNOWN BEFORE I BOUGHT THIS HUNK OF JUNK THAT I'M NOW STUCK WITH!
