Delta Dental Reviews

We purchased this dental insurance as part of signing up for insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace last year (2014). Our policy has been in effect and paid monthly now for 14months and has never been used.

I now have a need for a dentist and can't get an appointment. Delta said that if you call them after the 18th of a month to get an appointment you have to wait more than a month before you have coverage? Called Jan 26th and was told I would not have coverage until March 1.

When I called in to get a provider they told me to call a dentist to make an appointment. I did. Got an appointment for Feb 5th. Called Delta back and then they called the dentist (one of their listed providers) and Delta had my appointment cancelled without explanation.

It's difficult to speak to a live person, and once you do, they just look for ways to tell you that you don't have coverage.

I am cancelling this insurance because it is USELESS. I read other complaints where it's said it's impossible to cancel an account. Thankfully I never signed up for auto payments so I will discontinue making any payments to this company. I'd really like to get my $400+ back that I've wasted on this insurance. Complete RIPOFF

DeltaCare USA was contracted by Kaiser Seniro Advantage Health Plan for dental care. DeltaCare USA ripoff consumers by providing poor (1 star review or 2 star review) dental providers to Kaiser Senior Advantage Health Plan consumers. Along with Kaiser Senior Advantage Plan, they are a web of bogus markeing claims without delivery of dental care to their insureds. Insureds get the run around and not being cared for. In my case, I got bounced around Kaiser Senior Advantage, DeltaCare USA and their providers for about 1 year and my broken crown is still not replaced.

These health insurance companies are ripping off their consumers and advertise bogus 5 star marketing claims!

I signed up to Delta dental PPO plan under the New York State of Health website back in Feb 10, 2014, for the coverage to be effective on April 1, 2014. However, I was NEVER enrolled until August, 2014. When I was finally enrolled. Delta Dental enrolled me to the HMO plan, instead of a PPO plan. The only reason why I paid for the PPO plan is my dentist only accept PPO, but NOT HMO. An agent from Delta Dental was the contact that I got from NYState of Health, who has been helping me on this. But does not seems to go anywhere. I need to get this resolved, this is extremely unacceptable and infuriating that it's been more than 5 months since I'm technically enrolled and be covered by insurance. Delta Dental needs to get the act together.

I have a dental insurance -covered by my wife's workplace from Delta Dental which covers only $500/year.

I just had a root canal which cost me little over $1300. I had to pay $800 from my pocket. Unfortunately, insurance plan forced me to choose one of the dentists in their network. I just found out that I could have had the same service less than $800 which really pissed me off. I think, dental insurance companies just figured out how to make money both from consumers and dentists simulatenously. There is good chance, instea of paying dentists, they are acting like 800-DENTIST disguised as insurance company.

Let it be a lesson to your at my expense, do not bother to buy dental insurance. They are gaming the system, they mastered every aspect of dental insurance which you can win.
