Dex Media Reviews

Today a representative from DEX called our business and asked for me by name. She said that they had sent us two invoices which had not been paid and were past due. I told her I had no idea what DEX was, and had not received any correspondence from them. She said that I personally had authorized online advertising in May of last year (2013) and I explained to her that it was impossible, because I did not have the authority to do so, I had no idea who DEX even was, and if they had authorization from me it was fraudulent. She said that the company had been in business 20+ years and was not involved in any fraud.

She claimed to have a recording of my verbal consent, and I explained that I would never have given such consent, and unless they had a signed contract which the owners had signed, we would not be paying for anything. She told me that my verbal consent was as legally binding as a signed contract and I again told her that I had not given my verbal consent for anything. I ended the call by telling her to do whatever she had to do, but that we would not be paying them, and hung up.

We get several of these type phone calls a week, from several different companies, and have never authorized anything, period. I think what they do is call and ask for the office manager or accounts payable person's name, and once they have a name they call back and say that person authorized the purchase of whatever they're selling. I'm sure there are companies who fall for this line and these threats, and these rip-off artists are laughing all the way to the bank. I'm convinced that one way to handle them is to never give them your name, and I've instructed everyone who answers the phones here to not give out anyone's name. Another thing is never to "confirm" anything regarding your company's name, address, website, email, etc. over the phone unless it is someone you know or someone you were expecting to phone.

Hopefully this post will help stomp out these scammers!

Well this dex media which you think you can trust your dead wrong. What a scam who do these people think they are.Cumster sevrice what a joke they will tell you streight up you cant talk to a manager. Dex talked me into running a add for my demolition company back in may 2014 they were suppost to call me back and go over how the add how it was to be ran no call back to set up the add so a month later i started getting bill im like i never even made up the add, well i guess dex did it for me wtf, some thing i would of never wrote in a million years, but they ran it with out my ok or approving it ,now im getting alot of unwanted calls for stuff i dont do.. These people dont have any morals this is just dead wrong i cant belive they get away with this. If you call CS and they tell it to you like this, like your dumb or some thing they say they have a recording of you agreeing to pay witch they do and they have you agree to pay before you approve any thing so i guess they think the skys the limit, its one big scam!

Dex media called me over and over promising to help my company's website. I spoke with them multiple times explaining what I needed done to my website. Dex media - brad hull promised to rebuild my website, making it a dynamic website, where client can log in and upload their own information. However, after verbally agreeing to allowing Dex to build my website, I received a contract in my email. I viewed the contract where it read SEO which was not what we disquessed and verbally agreed upon over the phone. I NEVER SIGNED the emailed contract, instead sent it back to Brad Hull requesting he correct the contract with what he promised and to rebuild my website. He never responded. I called and spoke with multiple represetatives at DEX MEDIA explaining what happened, but to no avail! I continue to receive bills from Dex Media requsting payment for nothing? Please Note: Dex media never even requested my hosting information for my website or log in information, in order to rebuild my website? Dex Media is a rip off and I cannot get this resolved.I will probably have to fill in court to make the truth come out of them.

Stay away from DEX, they are incompetent and could care less about you. They listed an icorrect number, took no responsibility for it. They are crooks. I could not cancel the contract and had to pay for their incompetence to this day.
