Dhgate Reviews

I ordered a wedding suite with my exact measurements. I got a suit what was at least 2 sizes smaller. I provided a picture to the seller with the zipper open as I could not close it. I paid 200 dollars. Seller refused a return, and offered a refund of one cent. Company closed the claim saying it is not enough evidence. I am not sure what evidence they need. Even though I repeatedly tried to contact the seller before requesting mediation from the company, I was asked to still get in touch with the same seller to resolve my issue!! This was a waste of time, money, and energy. I should know better than to buy from China.

My order number is xx4766. I purchased dresses from seller called China_boot. Here is the seller store dhgate.com/store/14770236#st-navigation-storehome

But the seller sent a wong item that is not like what was advertised, I contacted seller, but got no response. Then I opened a dispute with DHgate and the dispute was handled by Carrie. I said I will return the goods. Then Carrie sent me a message that the order has been cancelled and that I will get a refund. She also said I should give a feedback for the order so that I can get the refund. Imediately after doing the feedback. They provided a seller address that was refused by USPS address verification system. They now said i should ship to a fake address and I had to pay for shipping. The company Dhgate is a rip off.

Here we go!

DHgate policy calls for sellers to pay return freight for items they sell. neverbegin obviously does not believe in this policy.

First, neverbegin argued that the guitar worked fine when it was tested. Maybe, maybe not. All I know is that it didn't work properly when it arrived. neverbegin did not explain what kind of testing was conducted.

I demanded a full refund. $360. neverbegin offered a refund of $80. Are you kidding? You charge me $360 for an electric guitar that doesn't work and can't be played even if the electronics worked and offer a refund of $80? No way! GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK! I had to decline the $80 refund THREE times before this crook finally agreed to a full refund, IF I would pay the shipping charges to get this piece of shit back to China! BTW, it costs more than a the value non-working guitar to ship it back.

Folks, an electric guitar that isn't wired properly or has non-functioning electronics is a block of wood! They want a couple hundred bucks to ship a block of wood back to a liar. No way!

So, I chatted with DHgate. My message is simple: please contact neverbegin and explain that dissatisfied buyers are entitled to a full refund and sellers have to pay the return freight IF they want their unsatisfactory merchandise back. If they don't want to pay to ship the item back, buyers can either keep or dispose of them. I'll be glad to chunk this piece of shit in a dumpster if neverbegin doesn't want to pay to ship it back!

So, I'm stuck in DHgate pergatory, waiting for enough time to pass for me to argue with a mediator, who doesn't understand my questions or simple directions--contact the seller and remind them of your policy! If you don't speak fluent Chinese, DHgate is the most miserable place this side of hell!

Coming up next ... Round 2 of DHgate mediation, a.k.a. Effort in Futility Redux.

God, I hate DHgate!

If you have nothing but time on your hands, more patience than Job and like to make interest free loans to foreign companies, with no guarantee that you will ever get your money back, DHgate is perfect for you!

On March 3rd, I entered into a binding contract to purchase a guitar from a scammer, who goes by the very appropriate moniker “neverbegin”. Curiously, “neverbegin’s” listing indicates that it takes 10 days to process all orders. On March 14th—the 11th day—“neverbegin” reported that the guitar had been shipped and would arrive in 10-13 days. On the 10th day after my order allegedly shipped, I began making special trips to the post office to pick up my guitar. It never arrived. On the 15th day, I contacted DHgate and a customer service representative told me “neverbegin” had given us “a fake tracking number”. So, I filed a dispute with DHgate and contacted “neverbegin” directly. “neverbegin” told me the guitar had not been completed until March 28th. I asked him why he reported that a guitar shipped on March 14th when it was not completed until the two weeks later and why he made up a bogus tracking number. “neverbegin” avoided my questions. Instead, “neverbegin” asked me to cancel my dispute, told me the guitar is a high quality “China Gibson” and that he would immediately ship the guitar if I would cancel the dispute. I wasn’t born yesterday. So, I asked “neverbegin” some questions about “China Gibsons” and told him I would cancel the dispute once the guitar was shipped and I had a legitimate tracking number.

“neverbegin” explained that “China Gibsons” are made to Gibson’s specs in Gibson’s China plant with Korean parts. “neverbegin” says he is authorized to sell “China Gibsons” in China only. “neverbegin” promised that he would ship the guitar as soon as I told him to ship it. I spent the next three weeks telling him to ship the guitar. But “neverbegin” just kept making excuses for not shipping the guitar. “neverbegin” didn’t offer any explanation for why he didn’t ship the guitar when it was completed on March 28th, either.

On April 3rd, I requested a 50% discount for all the inconvenience “neverbegin” was causing me. “neverbegin” refused, saying his profit margins are very low and he would lose money if he sold me the guitar at half price. Fair enough. “neverbegin” counter offered to ship the guitar and include some spare parts as compensation for wasting my time. I agreed and requested that he include a pair of replacement pickups. “neverbegin” accepted my terms—that’s our second binding contract—but “neverbegin” didn’t ship the guitar and continued making excuses for his delays. So, I escalated the dispute to mediation. During this process, “neverbegin” told the mediator that he was afraid that U.S. Customs would intercept the guitar because of the Gibson logo on the headstock. “neverbegin” covers the logo with a substance that can be easily wiped off when the buyer receives the guitar. Hmmm…

On April 8th, the mediator helped negotiate a resolution. “neverbegin” would ship the guitar to me and include the spare parts he promised. I contacted “neverbegin” directly and told him to ship the guitar and provide me with real tracking information within 24 hours and that once the guitar was shipped, I would cancel the dispute.

On April 10th, “neverbegin” told me the dispute had been cancelled by DHgate, so I needed to cancel my order and start over. Suffice it to say I was pissed. I immediately contacted DHgate to find out why the dispute was cancelled. No one at DHgate understood my question. Instead of answering my question, they kept answering whatever question the decided to pose to themselves. Bottom line, you’ll get more help by posing your questions to a random squirrel or blue jay than you will by posing them to DHgate.

In sum, I made an interest free loan in the amount of $359.01 to DHgate on March 3rd. My money has sat there in escrow while “neverbegin” gave me the runaround for more than a month now. I cannot say for certain that DHgate is an outright scam at this point, but it is definitely a colossal waste of time and energy. As instructed, I cancelled my original order and placed a second order with “neverbegin”. “neverbegin” allegedly has a completed guitar that will allegedly be shipped out any minute now, but forgive me for choosing to believe it when I receive the guitar I ordered over a month ago. If the lies, excuses and delays continue, I will request a refund and see how long it takes to get my money back. Fortunately, I paid with a credit card. So, I will now contest the charge and see if MasterCard can light a fire under “neverbegin’s” stupid ass. Stay tuned!

“neverbegin” more like never again! He is obviously some kid who works in a factory that builds guitars and he sells them in violation of his agreement with Gibson—if he truly has any agreement with Gibson—but that’s between “neverbegin” and Gibson. The only reason I’ve put up with this loser’s shenanigans is that he’s offering an EDS 1275 with a finish I have never seen on this model and cannot get anywhere else.

Once I get the guitar—assuming I ever do—I will thoroughly inspect it and see whether it is truly built to Gibson specs and post my findings here. In the meantime, don’t be as foolish as I have been. It’s really not worth the headache.
