Dream Weaver Kennel Reviews

  • Aug 9, 2014

Towards the end of 2013 our male miniature schnauzer was hit by an automobile, ending his life. Seeing as he was such a vital part of our family, we started searching for another one. Thats when we found Dream Weaver Kennel, located in Jonesboro Arkansas. After dialoging with the owner, Karen, we decided that we felt like she was a good fit, and finalized the purchase of a female puppy. The original agreement was to have the puppy flown to our home, as there was no way we could make the 575 mile trip. The weekend the puppy was to be delivered, Karen called us and informed us that the airline would not allow her to fly as it was too cold. To make a long story short, several weeks later, still no puppy, we finally told Karen we would drive there to get the puppy. She refused to allow us to do so, and decided to bring her to us herself. When she arrived, which was two weeks later, she had a runny nose and watery, runny eyes. The puppy walked with a "waddle", which Karen explained was normal and nothing to be concerned over. The following day we brought her to our family veterinarian, who said the puppy had a severe case of hook and tape worms. Later that evening, the puppy started vomiting uncontrollably, and having regular, uncontrollable diarrhea. After many trips to the animal hospital, thousands of $s later, she is still a very sick puppy. The doctor explained that she has multiple genetic disorders and a spine that is fused together.

The entire time, we have communicated with the breeder. With the last prognosis, the breeder stopped communicating with us, and refuses to answer our messages. Further, she is refusing to honor the contract which guarantees a healthy pet or a refund or replacement would be given.

Be very careful when dealing with Dream Weaver Kennel. They will post pictures of beautiful little puppies. They will communicate with you regularily, UNTIL you pay them the full balance they are asking for the puppy. Once this happens, the communication will be poor, at best. As with us, once we paid the $1820, we were not allowed to pick the puppy we wanted. The communication went from regular and consistent, to almost non-existent. The time she will deliver the puppy will change on a whim, with many excuses as to why she can't come... Why she cant drive to the airport... etc. And, if the puppy is sick, like ours was, she will stop communicating with you all together. Check out the other two Better Business Bureau complaints against them. Buyer Beware!
