Derek Diguglielmo (googeli elmo? Is that even a real name? sounds like the next big toy coming out for Christmas) and Sam Tash of EatLocalNY are con artists pretending to run a charity.
Even worse they operate under the guise of trying to help children to pull at peoples heart strings. Do not be fooled by these con artists, they are nothing more than common thugs.
I was hired by these scum bags to work on their website, not knowing what bottom feeding trash that they were. After spending several weeks working on their website and doing a great job of it, mind you they finally paid me 200 of the 500 dollars they owed me. It was like pulling teeth to even get them to pay me and they insisted I do a bunch of free work for them. I guess since they are a ""charity"" they expected a bunch of free work.
Anyway, long story short, they never paid me the other 300 they owed me and when I kept asking them for it, they went and tried to defraud paypal and reverse the 200 they already sent saying the transaction was unauthorized. When paypal didn't buy their lies, and told them to pound sand, they went to their bank next and told their bank they were unauthorized transactions. Their banks reversed the charge and I was out, not only the 300 they never paid me, but also the 200 I had to fight tooth and nail just to get them to send me.
I put in about 30 - 40 hours of web development work for these scum bag scam artists and got nothing for it except headaches.
When I contacted them about it, they behaved as if they were mentally ill. Spouting off about how their website had been hacked and they were going to call their lawyers on me etc.. One visit to their website, and I saw that no such thing had happened. Their website was fine, still in use, and all the work I had done for them was being used on their website.
After many back and forths with these con artists and I realized I had been scammed.
It's such a small amount of money I'm not going to fly accross the country to sue them, but I thought I would post it here so others might see these con-men for what they truly are. Exploiters of hungry children to pull at your heart strings and take your money. These guys are scum through and through.
This ""charity"" is nothing more than a tax shelter for these guys, and a way for them to scam people out of ""donations"". Do not trust these pieces of trash and if you live in NY and you run into one of these scum bags, please, for the children, sock them in the face repeatedly. If you know where thier business is in Dobbs Ferry (75 Ashford Ave.) please burn that dump to the ground.
