Ebert Fence & Railing, LLC Reviews

Ebert Fence and Railing is one of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure to hire to do work on my property. They installed a white vinyl fence on my property with two gates. They charged me $3950 for the fencing, which was a lot less than some of the major fence companies. One of the owners, there are two brothers, came to my home and was very pleasant. He asked for a $1300 downpayment and created a contract. My check was immediately cashed before the job was started. The men came on the day they were supposed to and did the job. It appeared to be good.

After I paid, I noticed that they did not cut the bottom of the post on one of the gates evenly. I called the owner several times who I originally saw and asked him to put end caps on the bottom of the gates. He said he would but never showed up to do it. Then my landscaping company came the week after the fence was installed and could not get his mowing machine through either gate. I measured the gates and they were only 32" wide in a 34"wide opening.

I called the owner again and told him this and he said he would come and look at the problem. He never came.

I called the company to ask them to come back and install one larger gate and got the second brother on the telephone who yelled and screamed at me that it was my fault that larger gates were not installed and that he was not going to fix the problem. He would not let me speak and everytime I tried to say something, he yelled at me that I was trying to talk over him. This went on for about 10 minutes, as he continued to yell and scream at me accusing me of waiting a year to call, when in fact I called two weeks after the fence was installed. I was so upset, that I hung up on

He claimed that my contract did not specify larger gates, but the contract which I signed specifically stated that they were supposed to install 2, 6 foot high gates, 42 1/4 wide, which was not done. These people are in breach of contract and I am stuck with two gates which I cannot have fixed, because I contacted another company which uses the same exact vinyl fence product and they quoted me $820 to fix the problem and reinstall one larger gate.
