Elance, Inc. Reviews

Elance.com is fraudsters paradise, it lures unsuspecting individuals and businesses into finding freelancers for specific jobs, sure it looks good and legitimate, but as soon as you have taken the bait and believed the so called lie of adding milestones and using escrow payments to be a safe method of payment, it will be too late just to be told the freelancer has been suspended and there’s nothing they can do, even though payments have been made which can range from 100’s of dollars to the 1000’s of dollars, then comes the interesting point of try to contact customer service which virtually non existent.

more and more individuals and businesses are coming forward with growing numbers of unrest, its time to learn from other people mistakes ” a wise man is a man who learns from others mistakes”. so be wise and:

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AND DO NOT PAY UPFRONT FOR ANY FREELANCE SERVICE YOU USE NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY

Things did not go well with this freelancer. after agreeing to the cost, he allegedly said we were adding more to what we originally agreed upon which was 200 dollars. then he asked for an additional 50 dollars. so we decided to to re establish the terms, and asked how much it would take to finish the project. he said he needs an additional 2000 dollars! we were getting ready to file a dispute but he filed one himself after we refused his offer to return 100 dollars. ultimately elance decided to split the cost. even though we could have gotten more if we accepted his refund, we want everyone to know that this project was disputed because the elancer was just asking for more money wihout any result for 4 weeks. we posted the same project and the new elancer quoted 300 dollars and took him 2 days to finish. so please be careful when getting the services of this elancer. https://www.elance.com/s/aman-aggarwal-dba/

I have been applying for jobs through elance.com.

Someone finally contacted me to do some writing work.

This person's name appears to be Adrianne Louise Hill.

I did 2 full articles for this person for which I was supposed to be paid a total of $115.

After doing the work I never heard any answers to responses about being paid.

I asked Elance for a refund, but their customer service is poor. aman619aggarwal is the worst of the worst scammer. He claims to be Expert in Databases and Server Administration I basically held his hand and gave him more than enough information, SQL with proper data, a some working query, and explicit instructions and he still dropped the ball on me. He kept sending me queries which were exactly not what I asked for, and after I told him this, he tried sending me random queries and asked me to "try them out". They didn't even return what I was looking for in the SQLFiddle much less my actual site. I would NOT recommend him, and frankly, I wouldn't recommend Elance either.aman619aggarwal just stole my money without providing the work!

This is the profile of the scammer:

I have an air conditioning company and was referred to Eric Backer of BITS (Business IT Solutions) by a local contractor. He was hired to create a simple website and do on going SEO. I made a downpayment of $1000 which he took and never did anything. I called him repeatedly and was able to reach him a few times and then heard that he was on drugs from the referring contractor. I never heard anything from him again and got nothing for the money he took. This guy is bad news.

Contacted Elance for first time....asked their help desk how to best use service...was told not to worry. I selected an Elancer from their recommended list. Then emailed my specific instructions for what I wanted to the vendor....wanted a list of personal business emails....gave specific company names, specific job titles. Elancer said could do but needed more money....I agreed that if he could deliver what I wanted no problem. Had to put money for job in escrow on my credit card. Elancer took longer than promised and only delivered 12% of what was requested. Elance told me to dispute charge....I did. Then a series of emails said conference call was needed.....but didn't say I had to do this on their time schedule or I would lose the dispute sutomatically and Elancer would be paid.

I am out of my office frequently and did not see emails or receive any phone call as to tight time table to dispute. Still can't understand why vendor was paid when my written job order clearly showed he did not deliver what he promised. I might have given a portion of the budget but I didn't get that opportunity. Still don't understand why no one from Elance had the time to dial my phone number and at leaset leave an urgent message to call them. My advice is that beware of the small, small print and don't let your email account go offline or you will loose big.

I worked for Adam Aref, and possibly an associate, Jenna Mersi, through a freelancing website called Elance. When I applied for the job it was described as simply copywriting; when I was actually awarded the job they demanded an academic paper for the same price. Being a new freelancer in need of experience, I accepted these terms and began work. However, funds for the escrow account never arrived. When I enquired they assured me that funds were on the way and kept up the pressure on due dates to ensure that I kept working.

Halfway through the project I stopped work and demanded that they demonstrate their intention to pay. I stipulated that I would not provide the product without the appropriate funds being deposited into the Elance escrow account. They never responded, and I eventually cancelled the project. Having looked at their history on the website I see that they have never paid for a job, and the majority of jobs that they award to freelancers are either cancelled or the payment is "private." Since their overall payment numbers are still at $0, it's pretty easy to figure out how much they paid for those jobs.

Remember, if you work online for anyone, make sure that they're going to pay you.
