I bought an engine from them 6 1/2 months ago and had the engine installed 5 1/2 months ago. The engine just blew a rod and they won't honor the 6 month warranty . I am in a terrible position since their engine failed on me and they are unwilling to replace it . If anyone knows of any class action lawsuits let me know. There are many stories like mine on Yelp. Don't ever buy from Engine World!

1994 Toyota 22RE engine failure to head gasket sealing. Engine did not overheat and was not low on fluids. Head gasket failure at two places between cylinders. Incorrect machine work performed on head surface during remanufacture. Incorrect measurements and surface dimensions. Head locator dowels were "fabricated" and were not capable of limiting head "squirm". Machine measurements were beyond minimum before assembly, and no "head saver" shim utilized. Failure occured during first long road drive in the year since engine was installed. Engine was supplied as long-block with head installed and torqued by manufacturer. New radiator, thermostat, belts and hoses installed during engine replacement, and no failure of these areas.

Engine World would not entertain any idea of responsability, because 6month warranty had expired. When I attempted to get some participation from this company, after I determined causes of failure, I was treated rudely by Tom, who did not want to listen to the complaint. After goading me into anger, he was able to hang up without further conversation. This is not the first engine I have purchased from Engine World, and I expected to be treated as a repair shop representing his product, and some recourse or participation would be offered. It became clear this will be the last engine I buy from Engine World, even the used japanese engines that Engine world supplies.

ANY other company would be concerned about workmanship output, and want to find a solution to the problem. Engine World is NOT an accredited menber of BBB either. I've decided to take the time now to warn other repair shops and customers of Engine World, to think about others' experience with this company, and think twice about purchasing a potential problem part! We pride OUR shop with being honest and accurate. Repeat business is crucial...right?
