Epson America, Inc. Reviews

I recently purchased an Epson Work Force 2650. After resolving some compatibility issues with my Widows 8 os and reconfiguring my Firewall I finally got the wireless printer up and running. I noticed that the device created a lot of back and forth motion while printing. While in the middle of completing a project the printer went dead. Close examination revealed that the excessive motion caused the A/C power line connection module to come loose on the back of the machine. No way for a simple fix as the module is an intregal part on the interior of the machine. Calling customer service at Epson was a joke. The person on the phone could barely speak or understand enough English to comprehend my explanation of the problem or make any recommendations. He finally put me on terminal hold and after waiting for about ten minutes I disconnected. The Machine itself is so poorly designed and complicated for the average user an IT Tech needs to be consulted. The Cheapness of it's plastic components and inability to withstand the internal motion of the printer is what apparently caused this device to self destruct. I am bringing it back to Wal-Mart and I am going to try to find a more Robust USA Manufactured Machine. A Rip-Off at a cost of $200.00 with paper and ink.

This company has the worst printer warranty in the industry. Read the fine print because if you buy one of their printers and it fails after thirty days your only option for replacement is accepting a refurbished printer and getting it is a nightmare that begins with going through their out-sourced support system whose only help is what they have learned from a script.

My WorkForce 4630 stopped printing in less than six months and since I've learned that my one year warranty is a joke. If you want a replacement sent in less than two weeks be prepared to have more than the standard retail value of your defective machine charged to your credit card. If you are smart and rightfully leary of that action then the alternative is to pack up the defective unit along with the ink that you have purchased and return it via FedEX. Once they have received it they will send out the refurbished unit and keep your ink cartridges, which in my case was a value of $150. I will be using the extended warranty I purchased from the store and replacing this printer with a Hewitt Packard that has a warranty that actually stands behind what they sell.
