Equifax, Inc. Reviews

I am a woman whom is unemployed at the present time. I was applying for work on line. Duing some of the applications or wevsites vistied for employment. I came across the Equifax site. They asked for the information and offered 7 day free trial. I wish I never gave my credit card information. I called the 866-640-2273 number and talked to a man named Aiden. I told him I would like a refund and cancel the membership. He proceeds to tell me he can help me with that. Then tells me he can lower the amount I was charged. I immediately told him I do not want te service. I called to cancel! I did not call to make a deal. I began to tell him I was charged twice in the amount of 17.95 in the month of March. I was charged on 3/21/15 and 3/22/15 in the amount of 17.95 each day. He apologizes and asks me to hold on a momement while he investigated it. I waited.

He began to tell me that in January I applied for the free trial. It was not cancelled and therefore the payament was going to be deducted from the card. They were unable to take the payment out due to lack of funds. The same thing happened in February. I told him I lost my job is the reason why there was no funds available.

The kicker to this complaint. They can cancel the account but, I will not receive any cancellation information until April 22, 2015. I am very irratated by now. I ask for cancellation confirmation code and I was denied until another payment is pulled from my account, Which he says He would not charge???? Come on. I asked about what about my refund? He tells me they do not have anything set up to give refunds. There for he is just sorry. I can not give you a refund.

I think it is robbery when a consumer who answers these scams on the internet and give their info. The site has not been used. That consumer should receive their money back for not using the service. I am an unemployed woman who needs all that she has. I do not have extra money to pay out to companies for services not rendered.

I have been trying for several months to get my free credit report from equifax after being denied credit. I am unable to obtain it online, or file a dispute or anything because they say they cannot verify my identity. I have tried to call the number provided, but after given a confirmation number, it said "please hold while you are being transferred." Then the line was disconnected. I never got to talk to an actual person to find out what is going on. I have faxed my drivers license & the issue & am still waiting for a response. This is our credit we are talking about!!!

I Hate credit agencies, due to the deceptive, and dishonest methods they use to get money from people. I responded to an ad on the net at www.equifax.com to buy three credit reports and three credit scores for $19.95...I had bought the single credit report yesterday and was pleased with the results, but saw that I woud need to dispute some erroneous information on the report. Than I fell into their Trap. The advertisement stated that I could buy all three credit reports for $19.95 and I decided to do that to enable me to correct the false information on my credit reports. well I tryed to access the other reports I had purchased, but was uanable to do this as they only provide a crappy type of summary for the orher agencies, which would not allow me to dispute the false information the reports contained. These credit reporting agencies have a racket going which must make them Billions of dollars. The only solution is more government oversight, if we had a government that was not busy Bombing other countries in some made up war. My advice is be very careful with these Credit reporting agencies and believe nothing they say or advertise, and be prepared to be screwed by them as they are the only game in town for a citizen to get a his credit report.

Equifax continues to report late payment history even though I had provided documentation from creditor.

I am tired of them ignoring the laws under which they operate and serve. This is because, the CEO and Board operate behind closed doors and remain "Unreachable" by the average consumer. This is done on porpose, they are never in the line of fire for the poor policies they have created and or for not following the policies required by law.

The only way to change the system is to make the policy makers more visible or transparent to the public, so with this in mind I invite you to write to the CEO of Equifax at his home address if you are tired of getting the run around. Be sure to send certified mail with return receipt so you are prepared for civil action if need be.

Equifax CEO address: Richatrd Frederick Smith, 4270 NW Harris Trail, Atlanta, GA 30327.
