Everest College Reviews

I was a victim of scare tactics to lure me to sign with Everest College promising that they would find me a job after or during my intern. I only want my federal loan to be relinquished. I am trying to go back to school to further my education and this is holding me back. I don't feel I owe them due to them breaking their promise. I have had to keep getting a forbearance on my loan because I am not working. Please if anyone can help me with this matter quickly I would greatly appreciate it. I would like to start school this semester!!!!!!!!

Everest College Mr. Marioni I was apart of the students that Everest agents used their tactics to lure me to sign with their school promising me a job. I graduated August 2008 with academic honors. And made the Dean's list several months in a row. Now I feel I am in debt for nothing. Everest did not find me a job as they promised. I am trying to further my career as a counselor and I can't because I owe for a school that promised me a job/career. Now the school I went to is one of the few first to close. Now I am stuck with this Federal Loan that I can't pay for because I am not working and haven't been working for a long time now. I kept getting a forbearance. I wanted to enroll this semester at college and I can't because of my default. Please help me get out of this situation so I can move on and further my career.

So here I am, a young kid wanting to continue my education, I was a high school dropout and had no idea what to do next. So I called Everest college for guidance, I was interested in their business program, so the counselor talks me into taking medical insurance billing and coding. Before I knew it they put me in class, not for what I wanted but it was a start. I thought it was weird that with no effort I was receiving A's and had no high school education. They ended up giving me a minimum wage job and a huge student loan. Now I can't afford to pay it, so I can't continue my education, credit is bad, and stuck at a minimum wage job. My point being they charged me top dollar and I have nothing to show for it, I believe this is such an injustice on their part. By the way I never even received a diploma of any sort.

Currently I'm a student at Everest and let me just say this is the WORST school I have ever attended. I only came here for Billing and Coding which they no longer have the stand alone program so the administrator told me they have another program called Medical Administration Assistance and I will learn billing and coding with a ram of other medical structures. I am almost done the program and have learned little to none of both (SO DISTURBING ). Since I have been in the health field over 10 years I'm really interested in learning billing and coding since I really haven't too much experience in. Moving on financial aid charges us these outrageous tution but we have out of date laptops and to make matters worst the majority of them are broke, printers don't work and you spend 45 minutes trying to get them to work. We have a teacher who holds 3 positions so she is away from our class in the evening fruqently . We teach ourselves a lot and when she does lecture us once in a blue it is confusing because she is teaching on things that is not being done in today's technology. I didn't spend 18k to teach myself for that matter I would have went to online schooling. They never informed me that I would have to take a certication test that I would have to pay out of pocket. Currently our teacher is out and some days we will have a teacher and some days we will teach ourselves. This is truly disturbing and unacceptable.

I attended Everest College-Online/Corinthian from 2005-2007. During that time I never made below a 3.5-4.0. I had constant trouble with always being put on "" work teams"" with other classmates that never logged on adn never did the work which left only a few of us who actually wanted a degree to do the work. The instructors and advisors were no help at all. They were notified of this behavior and nothing was ever done about it.

The financial aid dept at Everest was awful and was always adjusting my FAFSA to ""cover"" my bill due? I understand how to file my FAFSA and I am not stupid. However, I never recieved any money back from my FAFSA the entire time that I attended school there and the financial aid dept always had the funds going directly to the school and I never recieved any form of notification of what I was recieving or what had been awarded per semester. However, when I graduated and applied to attend another school for my BAS at another location I decided to contact Everest and inquire about all of the large amounts of charges for tuition paid against my student loan account (sallie mae) that I did and still do not remember authorizing. They could not provide the documentation nor did they ever follow up with a call back and I was constantly shoveled back and forth between departments. I never recieved the answer I requested and sallie mae only provides the funds that the financial aid dept requests.

I am amazed at how crooked this school is and how many people actually get dooped into huge student loans and never realize it....including me...I am still trying to figure out what they have done.
