Experian Information Solutions, Inc. Reviews

On the 18th of this month, May 2015, I went online to get my wifes and my current credit score and report. It said it would be $1.00 for each of us. So we said yes. Got he report and was charged $1.00 each.

On the 27th of May 2015, 9 days later I was sent an email to both my wife and myself saying "Oops! Has your Payment Card Changed Recently?". The it said:

It looks like your payment information we have on file for you is not up-to-date. Some reasons for this could be that your card has recently expired, been cancelled, or you switched bank accounts. Sign in today to quickly fix your account details.

I responded back and said I didn't want to be billed for anything and didn't want a Credit Tracker account.

On the very next day they charged me through my bank card, $23.36. I immediately called customer service and said I only signed up for my 1 time Free Credit Report and Score for $1.00 each. They said okay, then cancelled the withdrawal from my bank account and cancelled my membership: . and made sure I wasn't charged.

THEN: when I tried to cancel my wife's membership and billing. They wouldn't let me, so I got her on the phone and she told them what I told them and they said there was nothing they could do and she was going to be charged the monies. She asked to talk to the supervisor, who eventually got on the phone, and told her they couldn't refund the monies as they all ready had it, but they cancelled her membership:365660039, so she wouldn't be charged in the future.

We had signed up on your web site that was brought up when we went through annualcreditreport, as we wanted to see the score sand thought that was all we were being charged for. There is no Large type print, except for the $1.00 fee for the score, that said anything else. We are older, vision impaired, and we feel taken advantage of. Why can I get mine back and she can't. They said take it up with you, wouldn't give us a phone number and said we had to email you at this email address.

Please refund the monies, we are on SS and a fixed income. It seems that for a Credit Reporting Agency you are doing to us what some of the disputed accounts on our credit report are doing to us...I need say no more.

Please respond back immediately or call me

I expect to hear back within 3 days or I will pursue this matter further up the lineif necessary.

I bought an Experian credit report online from Experian.com for 19 dollars and some change, and got no more than a summary which I couldn't download. I could have gotten more from Creditkarma.com...which isn't saying much. These people are thieves, and I will be pursuing this in other ways. I'm trying to resolve things on my credit, and they provided no help whatsoever...and they are the only Credit Bureau from which I have never been able to extract my annual free report. They need to be shut completely down if they hold such vital information that nobody can access.

Ordered all three of my credit reports online for $32 and a charge of $14.95 showed up a week later. When you order the reports for them, even though you paid for them, they put you on a "free" one week trial for $1. After one week they start to bill you for the credit monitoring. They will cancel membership if you call however, you won't be able to get your initial fee returned. Really a despicable practice and I will never do business with them again.

I accessed my "free credit report" that I was entitiled to last year and ended up with a $19.95 per month charge that I failed to notice on my credit card statement. I called to ask how it could be that I got my free report and ended up paying over $100 before I knew what hit me? I didn't get any real answers just an intense sales pitch to keep the membership. A lot of scare questions and such tossed at me. I just kept saying I don't want it. They agreed to cancel it and refund the latest charge. They did refund the last charge and then charged me for the next month and THEN cancelled it. My thought was just good ridance.

I was told by my banker that there was a small medical charge on the Experian report but not on any of the other reporting agencies. He told me to go to Annual Credit Report.com and look at it. I did that and was very careful to NOT sign up for any type of membership. I felt pretty confident and got my report. No such luck!!! I somehow signed up again for a membership. They have these very tricky boxes that you think you should be clicking on but obviously you shouldn't. The website is designed to trick you and they are doing it on purpose. I just cannot believe that they can get away with this. A company that lives to destroy people who they don't feel are towing the line can concoct an internet scheme to defraud people and nobody does a thing about it. We all have to live under the watchful eye of the credit bureaus and have to fear them greatly. Can someone please tell me why there is nobody willing to get in their face about this clear and purposeful scam they are pulling?

Like thousands before me, I thought getting my credit score for $2 was a good idea. Experian started charging me $21.20 per month for a "membership" that I did not request. Even though I was on the lookout for it, I probably did sign up for the membership though some buried fine print associated with a "click here" option.

I will attempt to cancel, but I've heard of horror stories of not being able to do so through a number of means, endless automatic call menus, and agents who can't speak decent English, even if you can get a hold of one. After calling to cancel, I will follow up with these actions:

Send a certified letter to Experian canceling the membership.

Immediately place the charges in contest with my credit card carrier. I'll probably still have to pay them, but credit card companies charge vendors for disputed charges and I want to take as much money out of Experian's hands as I can.

File complaints with the FTC, BBB, and other consumer protection agencies. Just adding my name to the thousands already complaining.

If I can't get the membership stopped and continue to get charged, I'll have no choice but to report credit card lost so no further charges can be made.
