EyeZone Reviews

  • May 6, 2015

I got my eyes examined by Amy Sullivan, O.D. on January 8, 2015. I gave them my insurance information for FEP Blue Vision through FEDVIP as I am a federal retiree. I also have vision coverage through my Medicare Advantage Plan through Senior Care Plus. I indicated that FEP Blue Vision was my primary, and this is where the claim should be submitted first. The total cost of the exam and glasses were $949.91. minus a $14.60 discount. I had a balance of $373.91 due which I paid with my Care Credit card. My spouse and I took a road trip to Portland, OR a few weeks after my visit, but I was never notified by Eyezone that my glasses were ready for pickup. When I returned from my trip, I hadn't heard by phone, email or regular mail so I filed a dispute with Synchrony Bank as they handle the Care Credit accounts because I paid for glasses I had never received. Enclosed with their denial of my dispute was a copy of patient notes by Misty Smith indicating that I was not notified by Eyezone because there are two Karen Grays, the wrong one was notified on 1/17/15. I am sure the other Karen Gray has the same date of birth; home address; email address; and provider information. Eyezone offered a 10% discount on next years purchase as this was their mistake for improper notification. I hope they don't think I plan to return to them for any services. On March 10, 2015, I spoke with Nicole and Judith at FEP Blue Vision; Ann at VSP who handle the vision for Senior Care Plus; and Donna, Supervisor at Eyezone regarding the claim. Nicole and Judith indicated that if my claim had been sent to FEP Blue Vision as initially instructed, my cost would have only been $169.40, and to have Eyezone resubmit the claim. Ann at VSP would not process for the difference as they do not coordinate benefits, and also suggested that Eyezone return the payment, and resubmit to FEP Blue Vision. Donna, Eyezone refused to do this as she already had her money. They also would not reimburse me for anything. I even called Senior Care Plus, but they could not do anything either. Eyezone has no integrity. When I initially visited Eyezone on January 8, 2015, there has a disgruntled customer who confided in me how much trouble she had with her glasses. She told me not to trust Eyezone. I should have listened to her. Also, I should have waited to pay Eyezone as there are no refunds period. Do not use this company. They are trouble.
