This number has phoned my house three times today. It claims it's coming from Novato, California. I am contacting my local media outlet, because the last time I checked, it was illegal to impersonate someone claiming to be from the IRS. They called and left a voice mail message, which I still have saved from a number coming from Novato, California. Obviously, upon tracing the phone call, it's a VOIP number that they can automatically disconnect, once people find out that it's a scam phone line. I am also reporting the number, to pacific bell in California, as well. They do not know there is a number that was purchased from their company, and that number is being used to conduct probably the biggest scam in the United States, EVER. I am surprised the IRS, has NOT been able to catch these thieves.

The voice mail states that it is, Officer Julie Smith, from the Internal revenue service and that I need to contact them before, they take action against me. I know you're not supposed to call them back, but I did and when I phoned the number back, it's stating it's the IRS. Seriously? When did the IRS, reside in the great state of California?! VIOP numbers, are commonly used in scams, so that once the phone number is traced via the police or the FBI, the number is totally disconnected and can no longer be used. I am urging people to continue to report them to the FBI, FTC and whoever you can get hold of!! This is scarey, because i do not know if these people have my personal information. I am also placing a fraud report on my credit, just to be safe. Until these scammers are stopped!! The phone number to be looking out for is, 415-506-1303.
