Federal Warranty Service Corporation Reviews

I recently called Maytag on 23 August 2013 to have my washer fixed. They told ne I would be contacted by a local service repair company, and they let me know what time they would be out there to repair my washer, on monday 26 August 2013, I never got a call. I was also sold an extended service plan, told I would receive the details and contract of the extended service plan in the mail, never received the plan or contract via mail. Called them to cancel my extended service plan, they gave me the following address Federal Warranty Service Corporation P.O. Box 105689 Atlanta GA 30348-5689, and told me I had to write them a letter to cancel my extended service plan. This I did, as of this date it still has not been canceled.

This a very shady practice.

I purchased my GE Profile Refrigerator in 2010 through GE Appliance Store online. When I purchased the refrigerator GE offered an extened warranty, which I purchased. On July 6, 2013 I called the number listed on the Service Contract for service because my freezer had quit working. On July 9, 2013 A & E Appliance came out to look at the freezer and they determined that I needed a circuit panel. Since they did not carry the circuit panel they had to order it. They said it would be 2 weeks. In the meantime my refrigerator quit working, so I called in for repair. I was told that since this was part of the first problem I had to wait until my appointment on July 23, 2013. When the repair person came out he replaced my circuit board and PBA Main. My refrigerator ran fine, but my freezer was still not freezing. Called for service again in August after I realized that my freezer was not right.

A&E came back out on September 03, 2013 and informed us that the refrigerator was not fixable. At first we were told that it would be covered by the repair man. Then 10 minutes later my husband gets a call that the refrigerator would not be covered because blue dye was used and once dye is used the warranty is void. They told my husband that if we pay $1700 they will replace the refrigerator. My husband told them he would not buy another GE appliance.

The repair man today told my husband that the lines have been bad from factory. Why didn't they notice it when they were here previously. Now my refrigerator does not work because the lines were moved and I am out of a refrigerator. What is the purpose of an extended warranty if they don't cover warranties.

I feel that A & E should stand behind the work that their own service people completed. I certainly did not put the blue dye in the lines. I still have a manufactor warranty on the refrigertor for 5 years, but GE will not honor the warranty because of the dye.

Now I have no refrigerator. Thankfully, I have a 20 year old Amanda that runs beautiful. It is an inconvience because it is located in the garage and it will not fit in my kitchen.
