First Premier Bank Reviews

I recieved a open invitation to have apremier credit card, The original paper work stated there was a 75.00 activation fee, I paid the 75.00 account was activated, I then get notice that there also is a 75.00 annual fee , OMG you have got to be kidding me , no where in my agreement was there a 75.00 annual fee stated anywhere. They also put a hold on the account with remaining credit , Until the 75.00 is paid ,

It doesn't make any sense , My first payment would have been30.00 , But how can your first payment be 30.00 if they have added 75.00 to the balance and still want 75.00 in payment ? It makes absolutely no sense.

DO NOT GET THIS CARD!!! I'm on disability and was hospitalized from 12-27-14 to 1-22-15 thus missed January 2015 payment so for February I paid 118.00 (February 3, 2015) as of March 1, 2015 I still have ZERO in available credit. My account says I'm 11.00 over my credit limit despite my February payment and I haven't used the credit card, the only reason I'm over my limit is because of their exorbitant fees. 36% interest and 14.95 per month.

First Premier Bank are a bunch of shameless blood suckers and should be boycotted by everyone!!! They have shady and unethical business practices that often do far more harm than good, and generally speaking and make certain that the Have Not's will continue to have even less. People who are struggling to make ends meet struggle even more if they're stupid enough, like me, to open a credit card account with these crocks. Because they're a business they think they can get away with their shameful business practices. Banks/credit card companies have class action lawsuits against them all the time.

I Applied for First Premier bank credit card in an effort to re establish my credit and as this bank claimed. I signed up for the first card knowingly that I will be charged an annual fee of $75.00. Not only I paid the annual fee but as of the first month of the second year I was getting charged $14/month for "monthly service fee". In addition, the Interest rate was 36%. I decided to pay off the card infull every month so I did not have to pay that outrageous interest on the top of the fees.

One month I were making my monthly payment over the phone and were prompted with a congratulation message informing me that I have been approved for a 2nd card for free and for the sake of my credit goal I accepted it. I were charged $100 a year then $8.25/month. I mentioned that to a freind of mine which happened to have the same credit card but surprisingly he was paying $6/month with no annual fees, and when questioned the bank, the answer was that this is the card that I selected.

By the way the bank nevere asked me to select between cards; infact that was never an option. More shockingly, I discovered that if I make my payment in the last due date I was charged an additional expedited fee of $11.00 as a result, I had to choose the following business day to avoid this fee. Come to realize that I were cosidered late in making my monthly payment on time; as a result a $35 late charge fee was imposed to the account. When the bank increased my credit limit, I was charged an additional fee for that as well.

Other unjust terms; if the payment is made by check I could not use the card for up to 20 days until the funds clear the account even after I verified with my bank that the payment was withdrawn the second day I made it. Yet First Premier bank continued to charge the monthly fee. In conclusion, This bank found ways to prosper and make a fortune from those who are misfortuned, by sitting them up in a trap after another. So please be aware of this bank and its sleazy tactics. Never do business with this greedy unethical bank until the government catches up with it or a class action suit is initiated against it whichever comes first. Until that happenes do not be another victim of First Premier Bank.

I had two credit cards with First Premier in 2008. First Premier's terms were unclear and usurious, and now, they are considered unlawful. I have recently reported this company to the FTC, CFPB (who has forwarded my complaint to the Federal Reserve), BBB, and my states Consumer Protection Bureau

Here is a rundown of how this company "did me a favor" helping me rebuild credit.

My cards with a $250 and $350 credit limit included: $35 processing fee, $119 acceptance fee, $6 monthly fee ($72 a year), on top of the money I had to deposit just to use the cards. That adds up to $276 in fees, which is more than the credit limit I was given on one of the cards, and more than half on the other. I closed both of these cards in good standing 09/2008. What did I get for my trouble, these shysters immediately tacked on over $1000 in fees collectively for both credit card accounts, and subsequently sold them to collections. If they cannot keep you as customer, and rip you off with 79% interest rates and astronomical fees, they will simply get you on the back end by manufacturing bad debt, and then try to force you to pay under threat of damaging your credit.

This has been the case with thousands of consumers who have had the misfortune of doing business with this company. For all trolls who want to come here and respond to my complaint with the typical nonsense about how this is my fault for having poor credit...just so you geniuses know...ALL OF THIS HAS BEEN DEEMED ILLEGAL by the Fed. Credit companies CANNOT charge these kinds of fees or interest rates, and cannot systematically overcharge their customers for the hell of it, or ruin your credit without validating the charges.

First Premier has repeatedly failed to comply with the CARD act and the FCRA. They have been sued by several states for their practices, AND LOST. Yet, they continue to find new and innovative ways to rip people off.

Please, if you have ever dealt with these people and been harmed....immediately file a compliant with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the FTC, the Federal Reserve, the BBB, and your States Consumer Protection Bureau. Take the time to write one eloquent statement, save it, and copy and paste that sucker on all of the aforementioned organizations compliant forms (available on all of their websites).

These people need to be put out of business. PERIOD!
