I advertized my car for sale on line. Got a bite from [email protected]. He was very interested and asked for more pictures which I sent. He responded and agreed to pay the asking price and wanted to have it picked up and delivered to his son. He was working out of the country and could not come to see the car. He would put money in my paypal account to cover the car and shipping. Paypay would hold the money until I sent the shipping agent $950 to cover shipping. Receipt of my $950 would trigger release of the money into my account to make me whole. I then received an official looking e-mail from Paypay explaining this procedure in detail. I also received an e-mail from Route66 Courier with a schedule for picking up the car and reiterating the importance of sending them the $950 to cover shipping.

This all sounded so good it was hard not to believe it. I emailed back to frankowen and said that I did not want to send my $950 first. He wrote back assuring me it was OK and that Paypal did this all the time as a standard procedure.

I forwarded all the e-mails to spoof @paypal.com, a paypal office that investigates scams. I called the paypal help line and talked to Sam. I started telling Sam my story and he interrupted me finishing the story. He had heard it all before. The paypal e-mail is a fake as well as the Route66 Courier. Frank Owen has no paypal account.
