Have received about 3 letters in so many years from convergent outsourcing claiming they are writing on behalf of galaxy international purchasing for a debt i supposedly owe in the amount of $1240.20, original creditor household renaissance.
They address the letter to me under my married name from over 10 years ago. I have been divorced for 9 years. They addressed it to my current address, but with my last apartment number on the street line. I live in a single family home now so there is no apt. #.
I have looked up the name of the supposed oc household renaissance for which i cannot find any information, so i suspect the business doesn't exist. Also, back when i was married, i would never have bought anything or had a credit line with any business of that name as my credit was in bad shape at the time. Also, i have no memory of such a business, nor have i ever heard of galaxy or convergent until they started harassing me.
In the letter, they offer me a settlement amount of $434.07 for a limited time, of course, but mention at the bottom of the first page that they cannot sue me. Of course they cannot sue me, the debt is false, the oc is false, they are a scam!!!! even had i owed money to anyone, the statute of limitations on such a debt expired a long time ago! since i was divorced, i have restored my credit which is now 772. They are obviously preying on me because i have great credit now and they are using scare tactics to reel me into paying a debt i do not owe.
I will not be contacting them or paying this debt, however i will be saving the letters they send from now on. Previously i have discarded them, but i now will save them in case i need to sue in the future.
I looked up convergent and galaxy, and evidently they are scamming a lot of people, some pay, some argue, some ignore.
Don't pay them, don't argue with them! if you know for a fact that you owe no such debt, don't call them or agree to pay anything or start paying anything as they can use this against you!
I received a letter from Convergent Outsourcing, Inc. saying that their company did not have enough time to complete their investigation into this account sent to them by Galaxy International Purchasing, Llc.
I called Convergent and told them I have never heard of Galaxy and asked what it was about. They informed me that they no longer had the information and i should wait for Galaxy to get in touch with me.
Galaxy is saying that I owe them $1772.44 plus $824.07 int. for a total of $2596.51. I do not know who these people are. Have never heard os them before, but do know that they have only been in existance since
2010 or 2011. Have tried to get a phone number and it seems that it is not available with their address.
