General Tire Reviews

Never received a $50 rebate from General Tire after 10 months and multiple calls.

Tires were purchased through TireBuyer.com in September, 2014. I promptly submitted all required documents. On March 2, 2015 I was told by Nakia at General Tires that it appeared everything had been properly submitted, but she had to submit to a manager for review and it could take 2-3 weeks. She said she'd call back when done.

On May 21, 2015 I called back and spoke with Catherine. She retrieved notes from Nakia that said she would call back, but said I'd have to talk to Nakia who was out. She left a message for her to call me.

On May 22 Nakia called back. She said it hadn't been enough time, as "escallation can take weeks or months".

As this was now rediculous, I asked for a manager and was told no one was available, and wouldn't be befor eTuesday.

Today, July 24, 2015, the original phone number has a recorded message saying all 2014 rebates have been finalized. The only option given was to call a Customer Service number (800) 847-3349.

I called that number and Renee answered. She said she had nothing to do with rebates, so she could transfer me to Nakia (and told me how to spell Nakia, as I thought it was Niki). She also gave me the number (704) 583-3861 for Nakia.

I asked Renee for a manager. She refused to transfer me, as her manager had nothing to do with rebates, so she transferred me to Nakia without asking.

Yes, I got Nakia's recorded message.

I called Renee back and asked for a manager. She called me by name and transferred me to another recorded message, where I asked for a return call ASAP.

Never again will I buy from General Tire, and maybe not through TireBuyer.com who said they couldn't help me.

I am now preparing a report to FTC.gov, BBB, and Arkansas Consumer Protection Div.

I purchased two sets of tires on-line from Walmart several weeks apart. I recieved the second purchase rebate from General Tire in a timely manner, but never the first. Upon inquiry into the first purchase rebate I was told by General via E Mail that the receipt I sent them did not have the purchase date on it. I circled the purchase date and re-sent the receipt. I was then told they require an actual cash register receipt " for auditing purposes ". The sender of the e mail stated if I were to send the actual register receipt she would " do her best to attach it to the claim, but could not make any guarantees " since the rebate expired two days earlier.I requested a phone number so as to speak with someone concerning the rebate, but have yet to receive one. The two receipts from Walmart that were sent to General Tire are of the exact same type, and yes the rebate I received was the lesser amout of the two.
