I was approached by Meridian Star to purchase a new POS system for my brand new restaurant. I told them that I will not personally guarantee the loan for the complete system. They agreed and stated I will not have to sign personally only sign for the company. They stated that it will take approximately 2 months for the programming and the install. This was not an issue since the restaurant was under construction. I paid them a down payment to get everything started and signed a contract with them as an owner of my company not personally. About 2 weeks before my opening of the restaurant their salesman came back to me and said that now I have to sign personally for the system or they cannot deliver it. Now I was in situation. Cannot open unless I have a POS system. Their salesman told me not to worry, just sign personally and if you default because if the restaurant closed then Meridian Star will just find me another company /person to assume my lease and I will not be liable for the loan any more. I told him no, but again he restated not to worry they do it all the time. I asked for it in writing but he could not and again he assured me not to worry they do it all the time. So I trusted him and I signed. My restaurant unfortunately closed and Meridian Star never attempted to or tried to find anyone to assume my lease. I contacted them numerous times with no success of them assisting me. Now I am in collections and lost everything. Meridian Star should be sued but I have no funds for an attorney to do this. Meridian Star Merchant Services in my opinion scammed me into signing with them and no one should do business with scam artists. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
